Liana Weinberg, Benjamin Rubinoff, and Rahwa Gebredingle are all skilled in CBT for anxiety. All of our other therapists draw on CBT, ACT, Narrative, Somatic, and psychodynamic approaches for depression and anxiety. We can all work with you around your mental health needs for anxiety and fears. Check out our therapists' bios or contact our Intake Worker to help determine who will be the best fit for you.
In our sessions, we'll work together to explore the root causes of your anxiety and fears, helping you understand how they manifest and affect you. We'll develop practical tools to manage and reduce your symptoms using various therapeutic techniques, including cognitive-behavioural strategies and mindfulness practices. I aim to empower you to face these fears, build resilience, and regain control and peace.
Many of us live with days, months or years of experiencing anxiety and fear before we seek support. This might be something you've sought help with before, or this might be your first steps in addressing long-standing or worsening anxiety. Are you interested in strategies that move beyond simply managing fear and anxiety? Do you look forward to the potential of fostering lasting change? ThriveWell Counselling, uses evidence-based approaches to addressing anxiety and fear, that may include Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Ego-State Therapy. We work to cultivate resilience, self-compassion, and a renewed sense of well-being and ability to enjoy life free from constant anxiety and worry.
I am trained in Relational Psychotherapy at the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy an intensive three-year theoretical and clinical training program in psychodynamic, intersubjective, and relational psychotherapy. I have worked with and supported clients in Anxiety or Fears.
Some feelings can be overwhelming, impacting your daily life, relationships, and sense of inner peace. Together, we will work to uncover the roots of your anxiety, identify triggers, and work on developing realistic coping strategies. My hope is that you can move towards a life where fear and anxiety no longer hold you back from achieving your full potential.
Often times, anxiety feels as though it leaves little space for us to grow; it can feel debilitating, isolating, and suffocating. My aim in healing your anxiety is by first being with you in compassion and nonjudgment- the anxiety is here for a reason, let's locate it together. In tandem, I use somatic based work to help reconnect with the body in a way that feels safe and supportive. In this work, we will be collaborative and communicative to ensure that we are doing what is best for you. Most importantly, let's help you feel connected, calm, and steady again.
Gain a deeper understanding of the role and function of anxiety, its roots and causes, and what maintains anxiety disorders. Learn more effective ways to respond to anxiety, using mindfulness training. Begin to see how avoidance behaviours keep you locked in anxiety cycles, and learn the necessary tools to begin to take steps towards what truly matters in order to start building a richer and more meaningful life. A life that is not necessarily free from occasional anxiety, but one where anxiety is just a small part of your overall human experience and does not overtake and derail you from what truly matters.
Struggling with anxiety can be such an overwhelming experience that affects all other aspects of life. If we were to work together, our first goal would be to help you reduce the intensity, duration, and frequency of anxiety to a manageable level. The key to this is often the development of emotional regulation tools that you can rely on when you're in distress. If your anxiety is less intense, we can explore potential purposes of the anxiety to see how you may move forward best.
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a form of CBT, to treat anxiety, panic, and OCD. We incorporate exposure therapy, taking small steps to face your fears and regain control. ACT helps you reduce the power of anxious thoughts and compulsions, allowing you to live more freely and aligned with your values.
