I have had the honor of working as a Therapist for over 20 years. I have been privileged to share the life challenges and successes of hundreds of people. I am excited to have a profession where there are growth opportunities and effective tools available to help others to improve their lives.
Why are we here? What happens when we die? Why do good things happen to bad people, and bad things happen to good people? What is the purpose of suffering? These are spiritual concerns, and they flit and nibble at the edges of our day to day lives, eventually leaving us threadbare and worn. Let's begin to explore these concerns, and patch up the holes of our tapestry.
My faith-based counseling approach is completely different from my transpersonal psychology approach where I use rational-emotive behavior therapy to move you up Maslow's hierarchy until you reach self-actualization. Jung once said that all psychological problems are essentially religious problems. If true, this idea becomes especially interesting if you decide to review your notion of self, suffering, and pathology. You may describe a numinous experience and realize how it relates to your personality structure or typology. You can welcome me to explore such ideas as spirit, soul, and ritual process and the development of images of the divine.
Licensed Psychoanalyst, Ed.D. (CA Medical Board License #RP 227)
My approach to therapy as a Jungian analyst is to listen deeply to discover the unique person that you are and the problems you are facing. In a safe, caring, and supportive setting we will utilize dream analysis, journaling, and other creative work to help guide you back to the wisdom within.
The arts are a great medium to connect with spirituality, tapping into the collective conscious, your own subconscious, and the messages of the universe. Develop deeper sensitivity so you can listen and receive the messages along your path more fully.
My therapy practice welcomes and is inclusive of clients' engagement with spiritual practices and concerns. In-depth psychotherapy holds the possibility of supporting clients as they come into deeper contact with their own, authentic sense of spirituality, however and wherever this may show up in their lives. It can be a profoundly moving and healing experience for clients to discover and integrate a relationship to a transcendent principle in their lives.
IMAGINE A LIFE FULFILLED! Hard to do? Your feelings of confusion, pain, fear, being stuck, or overwhelmed, are real. But, you can overcome them! There are times, in everyone's life, when assistance is needed to help live the life you want and deserve. I can help you.
As human beings, we experience the unique push and pull between the physical and the spiritual aspects of our lives. In creating a sense of understanding and balance between these two opposites, we are better able to cope with the realities of our unique existence. We are not only material beings, we are spiritual ones as well. Understanding this context gives us the advantage in our search for meaning.
