Walking through the world as a marginalized person often feels like balancing on a tightrope, doesn't it? Emotional turmoil, social injustice, family issues, and work stress are amplified when you're also grappling with systemic barriers. In the midst of all this, you're likely seeking a sanctuary—a place to breathe and be your authentic self. You’ve found it. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself, I understand firsthand the added complexities that come with navigating trauma, neurodiversity, and intricate family dynamics. This isn't just a safe space—it's a familiar one. Here, you can speak freely about your gender, your sexuality, and every intersectional experience that has shaped you, all without fear of judgment. Using evidence-based approaches like mindfulness and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, I offer you both clinical guidance and emotionally attuned understanding. We’ll journey through your unique narratives, unpacking the resilience and courage you’ve gained over the years (even if you don't recognize them yet). My clients describe working with me as “calming,” and to me, that’s high praise. I want to be someone who makes you feel safe enough to explore those hidden corners of yourself. If you’re ready, so am I.

Interrogating your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and relationships to improve your quality of life requires bravery and commitment. I honor this bravery and commitment by creating a therapeutic environment where you’re fully accepted as your whole, authentic self so you can achieve long-term healing and change. My therapeutic work engages a wide range of clients, but I specialize in working with teens and young adults moving through relationship issues, grief, depression, or anxiety. Whether you’re experiencing loss, grappling with a life transition, or exploring how your past relates to your present, I’ll collaborate with you to identify specific goals and guide the therapy space in the direction that best supports your needs. Life is an incredibly hard, complicated, and beautiful thing. Unpacking everything it has to offer can be overwhelming, but also rewarding. I provide a space where you can recognize your value and feel empowered to take steps in their direction of progress, whatever that looks like for you. I’m so glad you are here, and I look forward to being a source of suppport throughout your journey.

Healing from trauma alone can be a painful journey. You need someone on your side to help you through difficult times and can help you be more successful and intentional with your healing. As a therapist, my passion is to help those in the more vulnerable population. Many of my clients struggle with trauma in their life, and are also dealing with figuring out where they fit in with their racial and cultural identity. In my practice, I embrace all individuals, no matter who you are or what you’ve been through. I want to help you see past the worst things that have happened to you and help you understand that those experiences do not define you. I work through this journey with you from a place of compassion and empathy so that you can emerge stronger and more confident in who you are. My goal for you and all my clients is to find your true self and embrace your identity, whoever that person is inside that we need to find. My heart and mind are open and ready to begin the healing process with you. Reach out to me today, I would love to learn more about you and see how I can help.

Therapy offers us a powerful space for reflection, healing, and liberation, but, just like life, it’s not always an easy process. I’m here to be your ally through every step of this journey, to make your therapy as smooth, supportive, and helpful for you as possible. Above all else, I aim to cultivate a space of openness and peace, where you feel not only seen and valued for who you are, but also heard and supported for what you’re going through. No topic is off-limits – seriously – I’m here for it all! Our work together can and will take many forms, based on your needs, your goals, and your feedback. I incorporate insights and draw techniques from various styles of therapy that create space for you to expand your thinking, process your pain, face your fears, develop new skills, embrace your strengths, find your voice, and be kinder to yourself. We have all felt pain, loneliness, anger, burnout, fear, confusion… none of us can get through this complex, challenging world without some help. Seeking and accepting that support is one of the strongest things someone can do to improve their life. No matter where you’re at in your journey, I’m here for you, and we’ll work together to keep moving forward.

I believe we all have the capacity to both change and achieve the sense of fulfillment, strength and confidence we desire. While I support a variety of client-challenges, I specialize in life transitions, relationships, personal growth, school or career struggles and all that comes with it. I help clients identify their strengths and connect to their values and purpose as they navigate any challenge, while providing encouragement and insight along the way. We go through many phases throughout life, each with their own joys and struggles. Together, we will set attainable and strategic goals combined with a plan to get there. Flexibility, trust, and openness are key to the experience because each client is unique and there is no “one size fits all” approach. I want to support you as you seek meaning in your life, face challenges, and write your story. Whether you’re just beginning your journey in therapy or continuing the process, I am looking forward to learning about you and providing support as you pursue your goals and dreams.

The negative stories that society tells people of color impact their self worth, comfort in their own skin, and relationships. My practice focuses on rewriting those narratives so clients can understand their lived experience, challenge internalized beliefs, and heal from the impacts of racial oppression. As a psychotherapist, I work to empower the disempowered through an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and intersectional approach. My focus is creating a space for clients to be unapologetically themselves, while gaining the confidence to navigate the world around them. My clients are mainly Black women, Muslim women, and women of color struggling with self love, self esteem, colorism, hair stigma, and intersectionality. Women of color are hit the hardest with race-related stress. And yet, they seldom have the proper resources or tools to heal. In my practice, I help clients disrupt the intergenerational trauma that continues impacting them. When dealing with race related stressors in a world that dismisses these struggles, it’s easy to become discouraged. You don’t need to feel ashamed of your experiences, feelings, or identity. Let’s write a new story together.

It's easy for you to sense other people's feelings, but sometimes you feel misunderstood. You may overthink things, or you may be so intuitive that you can't tune out the noise of daily life. The gift of being highly sensitive can also come with internal struggles that may be hard for others to understand. My knowledge of trauma-informed care and behavioral health, coupled with my creative background in yoga and art therapy, allows me to provide support expert to highly sensitive people. I use an eclectic approach that fully honors and recognizes the powerfully interwoven connection between mind, body, spirit, and heart. Together, we create a safe space that encourages the exploration of feelings and the formation of a brand-new story founded on personal strength, hope, and resilience. I spend considerable time getting to know my clients and adapting my approach to validate their individuality. Through a combination of intuitive and research-based techniques, I’ll empower you to move beyond the challenges and barriers that have been holding you back from living your best life. Everyone is in this together, and no one should have to face life’s challenges alone. Encouraging my clients to explore their pasts, focus on their present, and look forward to their futures is something I have always been passionate about. I always try to create a safe space for them to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, as well as understand why they are thinking / feeling a certain way. Growing up in a large family and raising 6 children, I have first hand experience in navigating the pressures and difficulties that parenthood brings. My clients are often parents experiencing stress, low self-esteem and feelings of inadequacy due to not having the support they need as a parent. My approach is to help clients identify what obstacles they are facing in a comfortable, compassionate, collaborative environment that fosters a non-judgemental dialogue. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are imperative parts of my practice. I enjoy working with different age groups, genders, and clients from diverse backgrounds. I continue to take educational courses to continue to educate myself about cultural competence so I can provide the best care to my clients.

Ever feel like your mind is both your best asset and your worst enemy? Whether it's the perpetual motion machine that is ADHD, or the emotional rollercoasters brought on by anxiety and depression, I've got the skills and the empathy to ride alongside you. In my toolkit, I’ve got over 15 years of professional experience and all the traditional therapeutic approaches you'd expect. But I'm not just a sterile, clipboard-wielding clinician. What sets me apart is my gift for slicing through mental noise to zero in on what truly matters. Our work together is a two-way street—no judgment, just helpful insights and a bit of well-timed humor. What you’ll get is compassionate dialogue and actionable strategies to help you make peace with that marvelous (but sometimes rebellious) brain of yours. Life doesn't get easier but we can learn, grow, and gain strength to navigate the difficult roads that we face. I would love to be part of your support system and help guide you down the path of peace, freedom, and success. Ready to dive into mental calm without losing your edge? Let's get going.

The language of therapy has become ubiquitous in our culture. While the therapist in me appreciates this development, particularly if it is accompanied by a destigmatizing of mental health care, I understand some of the skepticism some might feel regarding therapy in general. For example, it is worth asking: How is it that our society seems increasingly alienated and atomized, even as acknowledgment of trauma and ideas pertaining to emotional healing gain prominence in our discourse? Given all of this focus on self-care and wellness, why does it seem like so many of us feel more alone and lost than ever? Certainly, this dynamic is in part due to larger structural forces that shape our lives in ways both obvious and imperceptible. But rest assured, therapy absolutely can be a force for good, so long as we never lose sight of the paramountcy of human connection and avoid retreating into narcissism. My approach to therapy is integrative, with an emphasis on relational work and psychodynamic principles and application. I offer a warm, non-judgmental, and non-authoritarian space where we will identify the feelings and assumptions that generate the self-defeating patterns preventing you from experiencing joy and fulfillment in your life. So many of us desire to feel more connected, less anxious, and less alienated, but we simply do not know how to achieve this reality. This is especially true for some of us who have experienced attachment disruptions, or even more severe forms of trauma. Or, perhaps we see a path forward, but that path vanishes suddenly without warning and is replaced by malaise and renewed uncertainty, or, even worse, despair. Our work together will focus on developing that path in such a way where it will endure even in the face of adversity and the intrusion of the past into the present.
