I tend to click well with people whose brains also "diverge", like my own. I've spent much of my career getting curious about ADHD and how to navigate this world feeling truer to ourselves. Would love to meet for a consultation to get to know one another!

ADHD has many symptoms that can greatly impact our ability to have healthy relationships, stable moods, and manageable day-to-day functioning. My goal is to establish an accepting and non-judgemental space where we can explore the impact of your ADHD symptoms on your mental, physical, and emotional well-being. We will work together to understand what strategies and tools will be most accessible for the challenges you are experiencing.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is the type most used for ADHD and is especially well-suited for adults. Behavioral therapy is simply therapy that helps you change your behavior. Cognitive-behavioral therapy helps you change your behavior by changing your thought processes.

Psychologist, C.Psych.
Do you or a family member have challenges with focus, distractibility, time management, procrastination, restlessness and/or forgetfulness? Have you struggled with chronic unexplained underachievement? People with ADHD tend to be extremely bright individuals who are frequently misunderstood. They are often told they are not living up to their potential and described as “lazy” and “unmotivated.” Overtime, individuals with ADHD can internalize this negative feedback and feel ineffective, unproductive, ashamed, guilty, anxious, overwhelmed, and frustrated. Tasks that seem simple and require minimal effort to others (e.g., responding to emails) can feel like climbing a mountain to individuals with ADHD. If not properly addressed, ADHD can wreak havoc on lives. However, it can also become a superpower if appropriately managed. At MindFit, we offer the Fit and Focused assessment to help determine whether one’s challenges can be explained by ADHD. We focus on identifying and fostering strengths and understanding what’s getting in the way of their development. Getting an accurate assessment is the first step toward receiving effective management of the condition and bringing out the best in you. We also offer a 10-session Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy based program called “Thrive with ADHD” designed to teach youth and adults with ADHD about effective strategies (e.g., for organization, time management, reducing procrastination, etc.), ADHD coaching, support for parents and partners of children/adults with ADHD, and a physical activity program for individuals with ADHD based on research indicating that physical activity interventions can reduce ADHD symptom severity, improve mood and enhance focus.

We recognize that individuals with ADHD often struggle with emotional regulation, mental flexibility, organization, and planning. Our therapy approach emphasizes skill-building in these areas through evidence-based techniques and strategies. We aim to enhance your ability to manage emotions, adapt to changing circumstances, improve organizational skills, and develop effective planning techniques. Holistic Healing We are open to discussing and integrating these methods into the treatment plan as long as they are safe, evidence-based, and align with your individual goals and preferences. We prioritize a collaborative approach, where we work together to explore and incorporate alternative strategies that complement traditional therapeutic interventions. Medication Management Medication can play a valuable role in managing ADHD symptoms. We work closely with psychiatrists or other healthcare professionals to assess the need for medication and determine the most suitable options. Regular monitoring and adjustments are made to ensure optimal symptom control and minimize side effects. Psychiatric Assessment Whether you are self-diagnosed or seeking a professional evaluation, we encourage a comprehensive psychiatric assessment to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment planning. This assessment with our partnered organization may involve an in-depth evaluation of your symptoms, medical history, and co-occurring conditions. It helps us tailor the treatment approach to your specific needs.
