(4-week in person group for managing and coping with anxiety starts Tuesday, November 8, 10am-12pm. $50/2 hour session) We all live with anxiety and fears to a certain extent. Anxiety and fears can become problematic when they hinder our ability to thrive in our everyday life. The way I work with anxiety is to help you to develop a relationship to your anxiety first. I will work with you to understand the thoughts and beliefs associated with your anxiety/fears, and together identify how yoru anxiety/fears/phobias influence your behaviour or actions. We might uncover how anxiety shows up for you in your body, your nervous system and identify your body triggers. Once we develop a deeper understanding of this external problem, we can begin to develop skills for you to change your relationship to anxiety, in a way that feels much more powerful.

Registered Psychotherapist, RP
Anxiety can be a productive and useful tool in helping us understand and interpret our environment. However, when anxiety is chronic, it can take a significant toll on both physical and mental health, ultimately effecting all facets of our lives. I like to examine the causes of anxiety and understand what anxiety is attempting to communicate and protect one from. In doing so, I hope to reframe anxiety, foster acceptance and welcome healing and change. I am also a strong believer in self-care and giving oneself permission to rest, which is imperative in stress and anxiety management. Synergetic Healing Psychotherapy
Registered Psychotherapist, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Anxiety is one of the most prevalent and challenging forms of human suffering. It can also vary in intensity from mild tension and apprehension to feelings of fear and terror. At times, feelings of pain and shame about anxiety may be so great that we may wish to die to escape. We also know that anxiety takes many different forms. For example, some people can have intense and sudden physical symptoms known as panic attacks. Some people with social anxiety can become particularly concerned about social situations, fearing that people might see them as inadequate or inferior and, as a consequence, reject or avoid them. Anxiety is an important and essential emotion; however, when anxiety causes significant distress or when anxious behaviour impairs a person’s ability to function—when anxiety negatively affects a person’s life—we call this an anxiety disorder. As if feeling anxious and stressed were not enough, we can also become fearful of these emotions and try to suppress or avoid them, even becoming self-critical for feeling overly anxious. Together, we will work inwards to the root of anxiety and collaboratively manage the anxiety's intensity levels.
