Licensed Professional Counselor, LMHC
 therapist: Sarah Loux,

What makes my practice unique is the depth and intention behind the work. I don’t believe therapy should only focus on symptom management. I believe meaningful change happens when we understand the emotional and relational roots beneath anxiety, self-doubt, and relationship struggles. Together, we explore how your early experiences shaped the way you relate to others and to yourself. I create a space where you don’t have to perform, minimize, or be the “strong one.” You can slow down, feel, process, and begin to respond from a more secure place. I work primarily with adult women navigating family-of-origin wounds, relational trauma, and challenges in romantic relationships. Clients often tell me they appreciate that I am both direct and compassionate, offering insight and structure while staying deeply attuned and supportive. Above all, my practice is centered on helping you build a stronger relationship with yourself, because when that foundation shifts, everything else begins to shift too.

Treatment Approach

  • Developmental Therapy Looks at how childhood and developmental experiences affect current challenges. It aims to repair unmet needs and foster healthy growth.
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
  • Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
Approach Description: My approach to therapy is grounded in Attachment Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Psychodynamic Therapy. I believe many of the struggles women experience, such as anxiety, overgiving, difficulty trusting, relationship conflict, or feeling disconnected from themselves, are rooted in early relational experiences and unconscious patterns shaped over time. Rather than focusing solely on symptom management, we explore the deeper emotional and relational themes influencing your present life. Through a psychodynamic lens, we examine how past experiences, especially within family-of-origin and previous romantic relationships, continue to shape your sense of self, expectations of others, and ways of coping. Through an attachment-based and EFT framework, we work to create new emotional experiences that build security and resilience. Our work is collaborative, reflective, and compassionate. Therapy with me is not about fixing you, it’s about understanding your patterns, healing relational wounds, and strengthening your capacity for secure, connected relationships.
