In order for a broken bone to heal itself, it needs a secure container (a cast or brace). Likewise, in order for people to heal and grow in desired ways, they often need a secure container in which to accomplish this. I strive to provide that container for my clients by providing a strong therapeutic alliance and a soothing, safe office environment. Whether you want to make small adjustments in yourself or work to heal deep-seated issues that have resulted from difficult life experiences, I would like to help you achieve your goals. Call for a free consultation by phone to see if we will be a good fit together.

Treatment Approach

  • Biopsychosocial Therapy Takes into account biological, psychological, and social factors in understanding mental health. It looks at the whole person, not just symptoms.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
  • Eclectic Therapy Draws from different therapeutic methods based on what fits each client best. It is flexible and personalized rather than following one single model.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.

Dri Edwards Practice Description
My passion is working with clients who are experiencing difficulties in their lives as a result of experiencing ongoing and/or multiple traumas in childhood (developmental trauma). These are typically interpersonal (between people) in nature and can have devastating effects on your overall functioning, physical and emotional health, and relationships in adulthood. Symptoms vary and may include issues with emotion regulation, attachment, trust, shame, anxiety, depression, identity, codependency, dissociation, and more. I want to help you to better understand yourself, to identify your strengths, to develop effective coping skills, and to build your support system. I will strive to provide a safe alliance with you and a safe environment to practice new behaviors and skills that support your goals for yourself.
