For more than 30 years I have been helping people to identify the patterns that are keeping them stuck, and to begin the process of developing new patterns that will lead them towards the life they want to live. For the first five years of my practice I worked in an employee assistance setting, gaining valuable experience in helping to resolve workplace conflicts and challenges. As all therapists do, I draw on my own life experiences and challenges to inform my work with my clients, including the infertility treatment I underwent in order to start a family. I also draw on my background as a classically trained singer when working with clients who are engaged in the creative arts.

Treatment Approach
- Behavioral Therapy Uses learning techniques like reinforcement and practice to change unwanted behaviors. It is often applied to phobias, anxiety, and habits.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Object Relations Therapy Focuses on how early caregiver relationships shape current relationships. It aims to improve patterns of attachment and trust.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
Approach Description: My initial training was in object relations therapy, which is based on the premise that the defenses and patterns that lead us into difficulties have their roots in our earliest relationships. This continues to be the foundation of my practice, although over the years I have incorporated many other modalities, most importantly positive psychology, mindfulness, and the mind-body connection. I believe that our bodies hold wisdom that our minds may not yet be ready to accept. Whatever is troubling you, you already have the capacity for healing and growth, even if it doesn't feel like it right now. By tuning into both our emotional and physical experience, we can uncover deeper patterns and bring about lasting change. In addition to the psychodynamic and mind-body approaches, I integrate tools from positive psychology and cognitive-behavioral therapy to support practical, in-the-moment coping when needed.
