Treatment Approach
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
- Art Therapy Uses creative activities like drawing, painting, or sculpture as a way to express emotions. It is especially helpful when words are hard to find.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Developmental Therapy Looks at how childhood and developmental experiences affect current challenges. It aims to repair unmet needs and foster healthy growth.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
- Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
- Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.

Evidenced based expertise, experience, knowledge, a sense of humor, enthusiasm and passion are all incorporated to assist you to return to self empowerment. Often described as warm, authentic, and down to earth, we will work as a team explore problem solving.
I firmly believe that my broad range of experiences enhances my ability to connect empathetically, understand deeply, and facilitate meaningful growth and healing in those I serve.
In addition to individual therapy you are also invited to participate in a therapeutic yoga processing group (Closer to Fine) that has been in existence since 2018 that is now being offered right here at Resolve Counseling PLLC in Naperville.
Special interests are dogs and cats! Many years have been spent volunteering at the Naperville Humane Society and I am the proud owner of a rescued dog and cat!
