Congratulations on taking the first steps towards healing through therapy. I am honored that you are considering working with me. As a Marriage and Family Therapist with over ten years of experience, I have confidence in the power of therapy to foster insight and emotional wellbeing. I believe authenticity between therapists and clients is a key factor in how successful treatment will be. With this in mind, I will strive to create a genuine and welcoming environment, to listen deeply, and to join you in examining your experiences. My goal is to honor each person's unique needs while respecting the complex range of experiences that shape us all. I also try to create an environment that feels relaxed and down to earth, with plenty of laughter. Although therapy is serious work, seeing the humor and enjoying the absurdity of life goes a long way toward lightening the load!

Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Dance / Movement Therapy Uses movement and body awareness to express emotions and improve mental health. It can increase confidence, reduce stress, and support healing.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
- Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
Approach Description: Rather than me telling you something about yourself, I am hopeful that our dialogue will help you articulate your own truths. However, I also understand that you might at times benefit from my direct feedback or more structured interventions. My approach to therapy is eclectic, meaning I draw from a range of theories and modalities, based on what I sense would most benefit each client. That said, I primarily use a handful of approaches that resonate best with my style and beliefs. These include Humanism, Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Informed Therapy (including EMDR), and Expressive Arts Therapies (including Dance/ Movement and Drama Therapy). As a participant in therapy, it’s fine for you to experience the benefits without focusing on the theory. But for those of you who are curious, the “Approach” section of my website contains a brief overview of each of these theories and how I apply them.
