Treatment Approach
- Biopsychosocial Therapy Takes into account biological, psychological, and social factors in understanding mental health. It looks at the whole person, not just symptoms.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
- Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: Your healing process should reflect your story, because no two trauma experiences are exactly alike.
At Trauma Recovery Specialist, LLC, I begin by listening carefully to understand what you have been through and what healing looks like for you. Together, we create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your goals, pace, and unique history.
I use an integrative, trauma-informed approach that draws from evidence-based therapies for adults, including:
• EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Narrative Therapy
• Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
• Family Systems and parts-oriented work
• Mind-body and relaxation techniques
This approach is especially effective for trauma, PTSD, complex PTSD (CPTSD), dissociation, anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, domestic violence, and emotional pain that continues to affect daily life.
Whether you are seeking relief from flashbacks, nightmares, shame, self-doubt, or feeling stuck in survival mode, therapy is designed to help you feel safer, calmer, more confident, and better able to move forward with lasting change.
