Whatever the reason that brings you to psychotherapy at this time, I offer refuge in a confidential and nonjudgmental space where your story will be listened to with sensitivity and care. I am especially passionate about supporting people who are facing transitions: elders, people in midlife, students, artists, thinkers, and my fellow therapists. I am committed to helping couples manage conflict and envision new ways of communicating and being together. I specialize in accompanying you to those interior places that feel difficult, and in revisiting painful experiences that you can talk to no one else about. My practice is founded on our developing an authentic relationship of mutual regard. It will be my privilege to walk alongside you as we confront conflict, distress, and change to move together toward your healing, growth, and greater contentment in life. Treatment Approach
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) A short-term approach focused on improving relationships and social support. It is often used for depression and grief.
- Jungian Therapy Draws on Carl Jung’s ideas about archetypes, dreams, and the collective unconscious. It helps people explore deeper layers of meaning.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
- Object Relations Therapy Focuses on how early caregiver relationships shape current relationships. It aims to improve patterns of attachment and trust.
- Psychoanalytic Therapy Based on Freud’s theories, it explores unconscious conflicts and past experiences. It seeks to bring hidden issues into awareness.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
- Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: Psychotherapy happens in the context of the relationship that develops through our exchange. Over time, our conversation will foster connection and trust as we seek meaning and coherence in your life. My approach is founded in the traditions of depth psychology and on the understanding that the goal of building healthy relationships is an important aspect of psychotherapy, as it is integral to our humanity. I draw upon psychodynamic concepts from the existential, interpersonal, Jungian, and relational schools of analysis and integrate these foundations with insights from evidence-based neuroscience, mindfulness, and the abundant trove of knowledge about the human condition to help my patients cultivate psychological wellbeing. I hold to the belief that there is power in using language carefully and constructively to help clarify our thoughts and feelings to each other and to make sense of our inner life in relation to our world. Change is always possible from within the container we create for healing, learning, and growth.

As a depth psychologist, my foundations are in the psychodynamic, humanistic, and existential traditions. I facilitate the discovery of unconscious processes, with treatment tailored to clients' unique needs. While I enjoy working with people from all walks of life, I am especially passionate about transitions with elders, those at the various crossroads of mid-life, as well as students, artists, thinkers, and my fellow therapists. I am committed to helping couples to manage conflict and envision new ways of communicating and being together.
Everyone has the capacity to change, heal their wounds, and find a way to cope with the demands and difficult decisions of contemporary life. We will collaborate to develop insight into your unique way of being and examine long-held or underlying patterns that either help or hinder you in navigating the world.
The therapeutic alliance is the basis of effective psychotherapy. Working from my core values of mutual regard, respectful dialogue, and humility, we will engage in a psychodynamic exploration of your story -- who you are and how you came to be where you are now. My role will be to listen with an open mind, without judgment, and to see through your eyes so that I may help you heal and change.
