I work with individuals experiencing psychosis—whether it involves hallucinations, delusions, or a sense of disconnection from reality—in a supportive, nonjudgmental space. This is something we like to support in collaboration with a functional primary/specialized physical health care provider -- we can work with providers that are western based or of different cultural/traditional backgrounds. Sometimes the care is functional, sometimes a person is reacting to something the body is reading as toxic, sometimes its from vitamin deficiencies, lack of co-factors, competing receptor binders,... or accelerants to vitamin excretion before it can be utilized, sometimes its TBI/PCS or other injury based, sometimes its drug/substance elicit or not elicit induced...Sometimes it's not psychosis and it's actually an RA survivor recovering torture memories. In some traditions it's part of a cultural process that needs honoring...It's best to really take care with the evaluation and be sensitive with history and cultural context when offering care or adjunct care.
