Jessica Oliver, Aspire Counseling (She/Her)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, MSW, LCSW
I specialize in helping people who are tired of just "managing" their anxiety or trauma symptoms and are ready for real, lasting change. Many of my clients are high-functioning professionals, working parents, and teens who look like they have it together on the outside but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted on the inside.I use evidence-based approaches—including EMDR, CBT, and ACT—because I believe you deserve treatment that actually works, not endless sessions of "how was your week?" My style is warm and direct. I'll meet you with compassion and help you build practical skills, but I'll also gently push you toward the growth you're looking for.If you're in Missouri and ready to stop white-knuckling your way through life, I'd love to talk.

Treatment Approach
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
Approach Description: I draw from several evidence-based approaches and tailor treatment to what each client actually needs.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): I've been fully trained in EMDR since 2020 and have pursued advanced training in areas like polyvagal-informed EMDR. This approach helps the brain process traumatic memories so they no longer trigger the same intense emotional reactions. It's especially effective for people who feel stuck—like they intellectually understand their trauma but can't stop reacting to it.
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy): CBT helps you recognize the patterns between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It's practical and skills-focused, which makes it a good fit for clients who want concrete tools they can use between sessions.
ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy): I completed Level 2 ACT training and have incorporated it into my practice for years. ACT focuses on building psychological flexibility—learning to make room for difficult thoughts and feelings without letting them run your life, while taking action toward what matters most to you.
DBT-Informed Skills: I spent years providing comprehensive DBT and participating in a DBT consultation team. While I no longer offer the full DBT model, I regularly incorporate DBT skills—especially around distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness—when they're a good fit for what a client is working on.
