Ready to find healing and talk less? Your anxious spirals and "sudden" triggers are signs that there are painful memories and potential trauma remembered in the body. This requires a holistic & body-based (somatic) approach. I offer EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), or a somatic movement model (bilateral boxing) to engage with the deeper parts of your brainstem to help remove the blockage and lessen the present disruptive symptoms. Reach out to find out more!

Treatment Approach
- Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) A trauma-focused therapy that uses eye movements and imagery to help the brain reframe distressing memories. It often leads to quicker relief from symptoms compared to traditional talk therapy.
- Christian Counseling Blends psychological practices with Christian values and scripture. It provides faith-based support for life challenges and spiritual growth.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
- Feminist Therapy Addresses how gender roles, power, and social inequality affect mental health. It empowers clients to challenge limiting beliefs and systems.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
- Multicultural Therapy Acknowledges the role of culture, race, and identity in mental health. It values diversity and adapts treatment to each person’s background.
- Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
- Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) Helps clients challenge and replace irrational beliefs. It is an action-oriented approach for lasting change.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
- Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: The treatment approach is adapted to your goals. We are all complex individuals in a communal society with diverse histories and stories. After learning more about your intentions, we can discuss if my background and training will fit with what you are looking for. This is about you finding the right fit.

At Animo Counseling & Coaching, you can experience solution-based therapy that aims to "get to the root" of the issue to discover why you are experiencing the symptoms that are occurring. Using evidence-based practices like EMDR and ART addresses the memories or situations that have led to adverse reactions, unhealthy or destructive habits, and broken relationships. I also incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to build resources and tools outside of the session.
As a foster parent, I walk with couples and individuals in similar situations and feel the secondary trauma and chaos of the foster world.
The in-person boxing practice incorporates the science of bilateral-processing (right-left brain & somatic principles) to address anger, anxiety, dissociation, and suppressed emotion. I incorporate "part-work" with it to learn what family of origin influence could be impacting the body's response, and then we can shift it with the boxing work. If you are interested, I offer a free 30-minute session to understand the process.
