Jess Williams (She/Her)

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, MSS, LCSW
When you're living your life just a little bit differently from other people, it can feel like the world just wasn't made for you - and it sucks. Whether it's how or who you love, how your brain works, the way you seem to worry about absolutely everything, or the decisions you make about what your life to look like, it can feel super isolating and discouraging to not feel seen and understood by those around you. When I work with clients, that is my main goal - to help them feel seen, understood, and accepted for who they are. Sure, we will work on your anxiety, I'll give you new techniques to try and different ways to think about the world around you, and we'll explore practical advice for things like workplace stress, relationship issues, and family drama, but I also want to help you like YOU more than you ever have before. It might sound cliche (in fact, I know it does), but developing the ability to back yourself, accept your emotions without judgement, and make decisions that feel truly right to you can make all the difference in the world. Starting therapy can be anxiety-provoking at times, which is why I offer free consultations to all prospective clients. You can book a free 20 minute phone call directly on my website, and I'll reach out to you right away to confirm. We can chat about what you're looking for support with AND make sure everything feels like a good fit before scheduling an intake. I can't wait to connect with you!

Treatment Approach

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
  • Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
  • Feminist Therapy Addresses how gender roles, power, and social inequality affect mental health. It empowers clients to challenge limiting beliefs and systems.
  • Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
  • Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
  • Psychosocial Therapy Looks at how social and environmental factors affect psychological health. It emphasizes relationships, community, and resilience.
  • Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: Each one of my clients is unique, and therefore, I don't use any type of cookie-cutter approach. I'll always give you options in our work together, whether that's whether or not to explore a certain topic, try a new activity or exercise, or do something in between sessions. Your treatment is yours. It's important to me that we both believe my approach to be a good fit before starting our work together, which is why I offer free 20 minute phone consultations to all prospective clients. The consults, which can be booked directly on my website, is a chance for us to chat about what you're looking for support with AND make sure everything feels like a good fit before scheduling an intake. I can't wait to connect with you!

Jess Williams Practice Description
Oak & Evergreen Therapy is 'Honest therapy for messy people,' because, let's face it - being human is messy. Emotions can feel too big, too small, or completely absent. Our relationships can challenge us to connect on a deeper level AND they can also make us feel small and discontented. Family can be our biggest support AND also our biggest critic. And at the end of the day, I became a therapist because I genuinely love the messiness of being human. As a therapist, I see myself not as the 'expert,' but as just another messy human sitting (with some training, of course!) sitting with you through some of life's most challenging and real moments. I have dedicated my practice to working with clients who want a therapist who is REAL with them. I won't do you the disservice of pretending I'm a blank slate, but instead I'll show up as the real, authentic (and professional!) version of myself. That means we will get serious and deep at times, and laugh and curse at others. You can share whatever is going on in your life, no matter how 'big' or 'basic' you believe it to be. I'll meet you there, work with you to determine what your real goals for yourself are, and then act as a guide to show you the way to achieve those goals. Whether it's to learn to self-regulate, set and hold boundaries with your mother, put yourself out there and start dating again, learn to love your body, or make changes in your relationship structure - I'm here for it. I specialize in working with anxious people-pleasers, queer folks, and those navigating non-monogamous and polyamorous relationships, but also work with folks on a myriad of other things. I offer 20 minute free phone consultations to all prospective clients, which can be booked directly on my website. That way, we can chat about what you're looking for support with AND make sure everything feels like a good fit before scheduling an intake. I can't wait to connect with you!
