***Waitlist for new clients. You long for connection and intimacy, yet find yourself pulling back out of fear of losing yourself, being hurt, or repeating past painful relationship experiences. You want companionship that enhances your life and honors who you are, not relationships that require self-betrayal, overfunctioning, or twisting yourself into a pretzel to keep the peace. I work with clients who are navigating the tension between closeness and independence. Together, we explore how to remain grounded in yourself while opening to meaningful connection. My approach supports you in gently examining the protective patterns that once helped you survive but may now be limiting intimacy, so you can relate from a place of greater self-trust, discernment, and emotional clarity. As an attachment-based therapist, I help clients understand how early experiences and past relationships continue to shape how they show up in romantic connections today. I also integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR to support clients in processing relational trauma and strengthening their capacity to lean into connection while also knowing when it is wise to set boundaries or step away.

Treatment Approach

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
  • Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: I offer an integrative, relational approach that meets you where you are. I draw on EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), existential and person-centered approaches, and solution-focused strategies to tailor therapy to your unique needs. This work helps you better understand yourself while also providing support to make practical, meaningful shifts that honor your inner compass and guide you toward a connected, fulfilling life.

Amber Behrouzvaziri, Attachment & Relationships Practice Description
I work with individuals and couples who want deeper, more authentic connections but find themselves held back by past experiences, protective patterns, or relational uncertainty. Many of my clients are high-achieving, reflective people who excel in many areas of life but find that such confidence and clarity don’t always carry over to relationships or intimacy. In therapy, we explore how your past, especially childhood experiences and previous relationships, continues to shape how you relate to others. Together, we examine the protective patterns that once helped you survive but may now limit closeness or make connection feel risky. My approach is relational, attachment-informed, and trauma-sensitive. I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR to help process past experiences in a way that strengthens self-trust, emotional clarity, and the ability to make intentional choices in relationships. I believe therapy is a collaborative and co-created process. I provide a reflective, supportive space where you can explore what is meaningful to you, confront difficult emotions safely, and experiment with new ways of relating. Therapy is inherently brave work because safety can never be fully guaranteed. It is also guided by care, attunement, and your own pace. My aim is to help you develop insight, strengthen your internal resources, and discover clarity in your relational choices. For individuals, this often includes navigating the tension between longing for connection and protecting yourself from getting lost in a relationship or being hurt. It also includes understanding emotional triggers and learning to trust yourself in romantic and interpersonal contexts. For couples, the work may focus on building emotional attunement, improving communication, and creating space for mutual understanding while honoring each partner’s individuality. I work with clients who value depth over surface-level solutions and who are ready to engage in thoughtful, reflective exploration. My goal is not to fix problems or guarantee outcomes. Rather, it is to help you understand yourself, explore patterns that have been limiting, and approach relationships and intimacy from a place of grounded self-trust. Whether you are seeking support as an individual or as part of a couple, my work is intended to help you move through life with more awareness, confidence in your relational choices, and clarity about what feels meaningful in connection. If this approach resonates with you, you’re welcome to reach out by email or can schedule a consultation through my website to see if working together may be a good fit.
