Hello there! I am a Bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Masters in Science degree from Nova Southeastern University. I graduated with my Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University.
I am dually trained as a Person-Centered and Systemic thinker, utilizing both frameworks in supporting those who are marginalized, face oppression, and other daily challenges.
I enjoy working with teens, couples, individuals, and families. I have experience working with survivors of trauma, serious mental illness, the elderly, parent-child interaction, and marital conflict.
Currently I specialize in working with new moms, couples welcoming a new baby into their relationship and/or home, couples seeking premarital counseling, couples seeking support in conflict resolution, and support with communication and relational dynamics. Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
- Gottman Method Couples Therapy Based on decades of research, this method gives couples tools to improve communication, manage conflict, and strengthen intimacy.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: The Bowenian family therapy approach, developed by Dr. Murray Bowen, is a systems-oriented therapy focusing on reducing chronic anxiety, increasing self-differentiation, and breaking intergenerational patterns of behavior. It treats the family as an emotional unit, often using genograms and coaching to promote rational thinking over emotional reactivity.

Navigating through life’s daily events can be challenging. As a Family Systems Therapist, I strive to practice daily compassion, provide a listening ear, support through advocacy, and help guide you through your generational narratives.
There’s nothing braver than admitting that we cannot do it all alone, and you certainly don’t have to! Since you have already taken the courageous first step, my role is to meet you where you are at and support you through this journey of self-discovery, healing, and exploration.
I have provided therapy in this capacity for the last 10+ years. I recently graduated from Nova Southeastern University with my Doctorate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have specialized in working with victims of trauma (i.e. Domestic Violence, Sexual abuse, and Human Trafficking), the Latino community, and other marginalized, oppressed and discriminated individuals that are searching for healing. I have worked in numerous settings throughout the years which have allotted me the experience and knowledge that I can offer you. My experience has stemmed from working with children and their families challenged by ADHD, Dyslexia, Bullying and other disorders in a local Charter Schools, Dual Diagnosis, Geriatric Population and Indigent Population in Behavioral Health Units, Substance Use/Abuse in Residential/IOP/PHP Facility, and most recently with Victims of Trauma at a local non-profit agency in South Florida.
As a therapist, I fulfill my role through the practical use of two framework models, first a Family Systemic lens, looking at relationships and interactions that are important and meaningful to you, as well as from a Person-Centered Model, where you and your needs come first.
I have pioneered a Parent Workshop for Hispanic parents using a Bowenian lens, that has identified multigenerational incidents of sexual abuse in their family system and are in need of tools when navigating through “the talk” with their children. Years and countless hours of direct and indirect work and research with this population has allowed me to have reliable insight on this marginalized population’s needs.
Currently, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida, which I obtained from Nova Southeastern University. Go SHARKS! I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Florida. Go GATORS!
My specialization is in working with the Hispanic-Latino community, in particular those who have been victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Abuse and Human Trafficking from a Trauma-informed lens. My goal is to provide a safe space that warrants appropriate interventions, safety-planning, and goal-setting that meet your particular needs to live a happier, safer, and successful life. I pride myself in working with women and children, marginalized, and oppressed populations. I also have experience working with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, serious mental illnesses, substance abuse, and marital affairs.
As a therapist, I bring with me rich life experience in which clients have noted my warmth, nurturing and compassionate style of practice. Through providing genuine care and concern for my clients, I am able to build an alliance and rapport which aide in building trust, which is essential for therapeutic efficacy.
In closing, a quote from one of my favorite marriage and family therapy pioneers, “You have inherited a lifetime of tribulation. Everybody has inherited it. Take it over, make the most of it and when you have decided you know the right way, do the best you can with it.” – Dr. Murray Bowen.
And remember, to always strive to be your whole unapologetic self.
