Growing up and navigating life’s transitions isn’t always easy. Teens and young adults often face pressure from school, relationships, family expectations, and the uncertainty of figuring out who they are and where they’re going. At times, those challenges can feel overwhelming, leaving you feeling stuck, misunderstood, or unsure of how to move forward.
I’m passionate about supporting teens, young adults, and families as they work through life’s challenges and learn healthier ways to cope, communicate, and grow. My background in Social Work and Sociology from Clark Atlanta University, along with my experience working in schools, therapy programs, and mentorship spaces, has allowed me to support individuals and families navigating stress, trauma, and major life transitions.

- Behavioral Therapy Uses learning techniques like reinforcement and practice to change unwanted behaviors. It is often applied to phobias, anxiety, and habits.

- Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) An evidence-based treatment for PTSD that teaches clients to reframe unhelpful thoughts about trauma. It helps reduce guilt, shame, and fear.
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
- Motivational Interviewing (MI) A collaborative, client-centered approach that strengthens motivation for change. It is especially effective for addictions and health behaviors.
- Multicultural Therapy Acknowledges the role of culture, race, and identity in mental health. It values diversity and adapts treatment to each person’s background.
- Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
- Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) Helps parents strengthen their bond with their child while learning effective strategies to manage challenging behaviors. Through live coaching, parents practice positive communication, set clear boundaries, and build a more supportive, nurturing home environment.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Play Therapy Uses toys, games, and creative play to help children express emotions. It is especially useful when children can’t fully verbalize their feelings.
- Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
- Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) Helps clients challenge and replace irrational beliefs. It is an action-oriented approach for lasting change.
- Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: My approach to therapy is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. I believe that each person carries resilience and inner strengths, even during difficult seasons of life. Together, we work to identify those strengths while exploring how past and present experiences may be impacting your emotional well-being.
I support clients in processing trauma, stress, and life transitions in a way that feels safe, compassionate, and empowering. Therapy with me is collaborative—we move at a pace that honors your comfort while building greater self-awareness and understanding along the way.
Drawing from my experience working with children, families, and individuals in school and community settings, I focus on creating a space where clients feel heard, supported, and free to show up authentically. My goal is to help you develop practical coping tools, strengthen emotional resilience, and gain clarity as you move forward in your healing journey.
