Jessica DeArcangelis (She/Her)

Counselor/Therapist, LCPC
 therapist: Jessica DeArcangelis,
Online in Illinois, Wisconsin (Online Only)
Often what brings us into therapy is our history and the ways trauma or dysfunction in our relationships and communities has shaped us and our way of relating to ourselves and others. My practice is focused on building a strong, safe relationship with my clients where we can safely process the past and create new possibilities for the future. I use models such as IFS and psychodynamic therapy to support clients with understanding the root of their difficulties and integrate skills work as needed to support clients with getting by in the day to day.

Client Focus

Session Format: Individual sessions.
Age Specialty: Adult
Demographic Expertise: LGBTQ+ clients.

Treatment Approach

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
  • Feminist Therapy Addresses how gender roles, power, and social inequality affect mental health. It empowers clients to challenge limiting beliefs and systems.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
Approach Description: I am a Level 1 trained IFS therapist and my master's training was in psychodynamic theory. I use parts work and dynamic therapy to support client with addressing the root of their difficulties and bring in skills forward models such as DBT and CBT to support you with practical tools for managing symptoms day to day. As an artist myself, I also enjoy using arts-based methods for supporting clients in processing their experiences.
