I believe therapy should be deeply personal. No two people receive the same approach in my office. Instead, we will work to form a collaborative relationship with spirits of curiosity, challenge and connection. If you come to my office you can expect to understand not just your symptoms, but the underlying patterns and experiences that shaped them. Together, we focus on real, lasting change to those symptoms. Therapy should be more than coping and learning. It should to be transformative too. If you're ready for therapy that goes beyond surface-level solutions and meets you where you actually are, I invite you to reach out.

Session Format: Couple, Individual sessions.
Treatment Approach
- Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
- Jungian Therapy Draws on Carl Jung’s ideas about archetypes, dreams, and the collective unconscious. It helps people explore deeper layers of meaning.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
- Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
Approach Description: I offer all prospective clients a free consultation as a starting point. This is a chance for us to talk through what’s bringing you to therapy right now, what you’re hoping will change, and what you want your life to look like moving forward. We’ll also discuss how I work and what therapy together would actually look like. My goal is for you to leave that conversation with a clear sense of direction and whether this feels like the right fit. Therapy works best when there’s a strong connection and shared understanding, and the consultation is designed to help us establish that from the very beginning.

At TherapyKC, I approach therapy as a deeply personal and collaborative process. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all treatment or simply applying techniques to symptoms. Instead, I take the time to understand who you are. Taking the time to listen to your story, your patterns and the experiences that have shaped the way you move through the world. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful and self-aware, yet still find themselves feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or repeating the same painful dynamics in relationships, work, or within themselves.
My work is grounded in the belief that insight alone isn’t enough. You may already understand why you feel the way you do, but something still isn’t shifting. Together, we focus on the deeper emotional patterns that were formed over time. Often what was once an adaptive responses to earlier experiences becomes maladaptive to the life experience we want. There is a process of working through our patterns in a way that allows for real change. Therapy becomes a place not just to talk or vent, but to experience something different: to feel understood, to take emotional risks and explore what’s been difficult to face. If done with care and professional competency we begin relating to yourself and others in new ways.
Clients often describe our work as both grounding and challenging in the right ways. I aim to create a space that is warm, steady, and nonjudgmental, while also being honest and engaged. I won’t sit back silently, but I also won’t push you faster than you’re ready to go. The pace and direction of therapy are shaped together.
If you’re looking for therapy that goes beyond surface-level coping strategies and instead helps you understand and shift the deeper roots of what’s going on, I’d welcome the opportunity to work with you.
