I have worked as a counselor for many years and have experience working with a variety of clients from all different types of backgrounds. I incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to address the whole person, from what is most important to you to skills you can use everyday for symptom relief.
ACT helps people by helping them identify what is important in their life to give them motivation and direction, which can help with day-to-day tasks and with larger life goals. We use a variety of techniques and conversation to help in other ways as well.
CBT helps people make small changes to the way they think about something to help them reduce anxiety or depression (or other symptoms) and help them feel better. It's not changing who you are, but helps a person focus less on something that is unhelpful for them. And it doesn't mean you have to turn into an optimist!
I see individuals both in-person or online. I do NOT offer evenings or weekends.
