You're doing everything right, so why does it feel like it's not enough? That question shows up constantly in my work with high-functioning adults and couples who look put together from the outside and are quietly exhausted on the inside. I help people who are used to handling things on their own figure out what's not working, whether that's a relationship stuck in the same fight, a pattern of overthinking that won't quiet down, or a life that checks every box and still doesn't feel like theirs. I bring honest, grounded feedback and 15+ years of clinical training and experience to that work. If you're tired of managing everything alone, reach out.

Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
Approach Description: My approach is direct and collaborative. I don't believe in a rigid treatment protocol applied the same way to everyone. With couples, I use Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy, which focuses on understanding the actual pattern a couple gets stuck in, and building both acceptance and real behavior change around it. With individuals, I draw on CBT and DBT-informed skills to work with the specific thoughts, patterns, and coping strategies that keep someone stuck, always in the context of who they are and where they come from.
I tend to work well with people who want a therapist who will gently push them towards greater awareness and behavior change, not just reflect their feelings back to them. That includes naming patterns clients may not want to hear, and pushing back gently on perfectionism, avoidance, or self-criticism when it's getting in the way. I take cultural context seriously, particularly for first-generation and bicultural clients navigating expectations from multiple directions at once. The goal isn't just to feel better in the therapy room, it's to leave with something that actually changes how you're living.

My practice is built for people who are more often described as "the one who has it together" than "the one who's struggling," and who are quietly struggling anyway. I work with high-functioning adults, couples, and first-generation and bicultural individuals who are navigating anxiety, relationship conflict, perfectionism, and the particular weight of holding multiple identities and expectations at once. Many of my clients have never been in therapy before, or tried it once and didn't feel like the depth matched what they were carrying.
I'm a licensed clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience, including time in the VA medical system and a postdoctoral fellowship in Couples and Family Therapy. I have extensive training in CBT and I'm certified in Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy (IBCT), trained directly under its developer, Dr. Andrew Christensen. I incorporate various evidence-based treatments to design a treatment approach that works for you.
I see individuals and couples via telehealth Monday through Thursday across more than 40 PSYPACT states, and in person in Naperville, IL on Wednesdays. Whether we meet on screen or in the office, the work is the same: direct, evidence-based, and focused on real change.
