Divorce is one of the most difficult life challenges involving grief, disappointment, fear, anxiety, hope and a burdensome sense of responsibility. When I work with families before, during or after this period of challenge, I aim to create an emotionally safe environment where they can speak freely and from the heart while simultaneously helping them develop skills in self-care, finding authenticity, and communication, to promote success in managing the challenge and moving forward. One of the most frequent and shared themes is will their kids be okay and how can they help them through the divorce and its aftermath without their being damaged. This concern is frequently the first point of agreement between the co-parents and is the starting point of beginning meaningful, productive and positive discussions towards reaching agreements. My goal is to help a family in distress move to a better place through the divorce process than where they were when we met, and to give them a healthy path forward.

Treatment Approach
- Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
- Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) A short-term approach focused on improving relationships and social support. It is often used for depression and grief.
- Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) Helps parents strengthen their bond with their child while learning effective strategies to manage challenging behaviors. Through live coaching, parents practice positive communication, set clear boundaries, and build a more supportive, nurturing home environment.
Approach Description: My approach is to help families find a calmer, more respectful way forward before , during or after divorce.
Before Divorce: I consult with couples who are feeling distress in their relationship and are struggling with decisions about working on the marriage and maybe deciding about divorce. We explore implications for their children, possible parenting plans, life planning, and how to talk to the children — in a safe, non-adversarial setting.
During Divorce: Having spent years as an expert witness in family law litigation, I struggled to find a better way for families. I found that frequently out-of-court solutions through collaborative practice, mediations, and sometimes self- representation (pro se) is right for the couple . In Collaborative practice I am either the Neutral Facilitator or the neutral child specialist. Other out-of-court roles are in mediation and consultation to address the emotional aspects of divorce peacefully.
After Divorce: Support is available to help parents, children, adult children and whole families, navigate the family changes with kindness, respect and dignity. Services available include: Individual therapy, Co-parenting counseling, therapy for children and adult children of divorce, mediation, and family therapy.

My practice focuses on helping children, adolescents, and adults develop healthy coping strategies to feel safe and secure in themselves and to build more fulfilling interpersonal relationships. Whether you are weighing a decision, in the middle of a life challenge, or rebuilding afterward, there is a path forward grounded in respect and cooperation. I specialize in helping families before, during, and after divorce. As an Accredited Collaborative Professional I work with the couple in an out-of-court process where they can reach joint decisions, without being adversarial, to better make durable life plans for themselves and their children. In Collaborative Practice I can step in as a Family Mediator, Child Specialist or Neutral Facilitator. Some partners choose mediation to reach decisions and I am a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator who brings years of experience working with family systems, parenting issues, building communication skills and harnessing interest based negotiation methods to reach consensus. In my clinical practice, as a Board Certified Psychologist, I assist through individual, Couples & Family Therapy.
I am a Licensed Psychologist in Florida, Colorado and California, a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator and have been a member of the Medical Staff at Boca Raton Regional Hospital for over 30 years.
