ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS.... Feeling stuck? Sometimes we feel lost, get overwhelmed with anxious thoughts, become sad, get angry, and feel worthless; simply put because of our negative thoughts we feel stuck. Perhaps your tween or teen is struggling with focus, impulsive behaviors, or other behavioral issues. Does lack of motivation, struggles with decision making, or other challenges get in the way of you setting or accomplishing goals? When our thoughts aren't right, we don't feel right. I provide therapy to teens, adults, families, and couples equipping them with tools to overcome life’s challenges.

Treatment Approach
- Christian Counseling Blends psychological practices with Christian values and scripture. It provides faith-based support for life challenges and spiritual growth.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
- Gottman Method Couples Therapy Based on decades of research, this method gives couples tools to improve communication, manage conflict, and strengthen intimacy.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: I use a range of approaches dependent upon each situation. I often use a Solution Focused approach to therapy in which we will identify what is not working for you and do less of that, while focusing on what is working for you and develop and identify your resources to do more. We may use a Cognitive Behavioral approach when working through certain issues. In many of our sessions I will use a humanistic model of therapy called "Person Centered Counseling," which feels very conversational and relaxed. I also often incorporate mindfulness, games, activities, art and other techniques, especially when working with adolescents.

I have a Master’s degree in counseling psychology from Abilene Christian University and have over 18 years of experience working with preteens, teens, adults, families and couples; six of those years in a counseling setting. I approach counseling through a cognitive behavioral approach and also use solution-focused therapy to help clients find solutions that work for them I also often incorporate mindfulness, games, activities, art and other techniques, especially when working with adolescents. Through counseling sessions, you will learn and be equipped with skills to overcome life’s challenges.
I have a passion for working with teens and preteens, parents, and their families to help them through the everyday, and not so everyday, struggles of life. As a father of three children spanning elementary, middle school, and high school I can appreciate working close with parents in teaching skills and help families come together. I have spent much time working in my community gaining experience through working with schools and school counselors, leading mentoring groups, leading teams of volunteers, and working with many local organizations serving people. I approach counseling with a Christian perspective, recognizing that to some faith is very important and to others they do not want to talk about faith. Whatever your personal beliefs my focus in therapy is to equip clients to find what works for them and live their best life.
