Something brought you here. Maybe you've been holding it together for a long time and you're tired. Maybe something happened and you haven't been able to shake it. Maybe you just know that the way things are isn't how you want them to stay.
I work with adults who are ready to slow down and get curious about what's really going on beneath the surface. Using EMDR, IFS, and somatic therapy, I help people understand their nervous system, process what they've been carrying, and find a steadier, more grounded way forward. My approach is warm, unhurried, and body-aware. I believe healing happens in relationship, and I take that seriously.
I'm an LCSW and LCADC with advanced training in EMDR and IFS, and a registered trauma-informed yoga teacher. I see clients in person in Carson City and via telehealth across Nevada.

Treatment Approach
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
- Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) A short-term approach focused on improving relationships and social support. It is often used for depression and grief.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
- Motivational Interviewing (MI) A collaborative, client-centered approach that strengthens motivation for change. It is especially effective for addictions and health behaviors.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
- Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: My approach is integrative, body-aware, and paced to you. I draw on EMDR to process what the nervous system has been holding, IFS to help you understand and work with the different parts of yourself, and somatic awareness to bring the body into the healing process. ACT, mindfulness, and person-centered principles weave through everything, keeping the work grounded in your values and your lived experience. I don't follow a rigid protocol. I follow you.

The Mindful Goldfish takes its name from a line in the Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso: "Be a goldfish." The idea is that a goldfish, believed to have a very short memory, doesn't carry its mistakes forward. Ted uses it to coach his players through failure with resilience and a fresh perspective.
That spirit lives at the heart of this practice. Not bypassing the hard things, but learning not to be defined by them. Every session is an invitation to let what no longer serves you loosen its hold, and to move forward with a little more ease.
