At The Psych Assessment Studio, we focus on high-quality, neuroaffirming assessments and support for both children and adults. I have extensive experience in ADHD and autism assessments, cognitive and adademic assessments and functional capacity assessments. Our practice is grounded in a strengths-based approach that celebrates neurodiversity. My work and passion is particularly focused on supporting high-masking and internalised presentations, helping individuals better understand their unique neurotype and thrive across home, school, and work settings. I strive for a compassionate, affirming style and pride myself on translating complex diagnostic information into meaningful insights, practical strategies, and personalised support recommendations. I also bring lived experience as an Adhder person and mother.

Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Developmental Therapy Looks at how childhood and developmental experiences affect current challenges. It aims to repair unmet needs and foster healthy growth.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
- Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) A short-term approach focused on improving relationships and social support. It is often used for depression and grief.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
- Neuropsychology Examines how brain function affects thinking, memory, and behavior. It often involves assessment and rehabilitation strategies.
- Play Therapy Uses toys, games, and creative play to help children express emotions. It is especially useful when children can’t fully verbalize their feelings.
- Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
Approach Description: At The Psych Assessment Studio, we know that cookie-cutter strategies don’t work, especially not for neurodivergent brains. That’s why our therapeutic support is practical, personalised, and grounded in compassion and real-life functionality.
Our aim is to co-create strategies that feel sustainable and affirming, not exhausting. Whether you're learning to manage big emotions, navigate sensory overload, unmask safely, or just find your way back to yourself, we’re here for it. And we’ll do it with humour, heart, and absolutely no pressure to own a gratitude journal.

The Psych Assessment Studio is a warm, inclusive, and highly passionate psychology practice dedicated to providing comprehensive, neurodiversity-affirming assessments and support for children, teens, and adults. We are passionate about helping individuals and families better understand their neurotype, honour their lived experiences, and access the supports they need to thrive in their daily lives.
Led by Tyla, a psychologist with a deep interest and passion in neurodevelopmental assessments, the studio has built a reputation for its high-quality, strengths-based evaluations for Autism, ADHD, learning differences, and related neurodivergences. Tyla brings a compassionate, respectful, and insightful lens to every assessment, with a strong focus on identifying high-masking and internalised presentations, particularly in women, girls, and those who may have been overlooked or misunderstood in earlier settings.
At The Psych Assessment Studio, we understand that no two individuals are the same. We prioritise personalised, collaborative assessments that explore each client’s communication style, executive functioning, sensory processing, emotional wellbeing, and daily functioning. Rather than focusing on “deficits,” our reports and feedback highlight strengths, affirm neurodivergent identity, and provide clear, practical recommendations that support authentic living and self-understanding.
Clients seek out our services for our depth of knowledge, affirming approach, and unwavering commitment to doing assessment differently, ensuring that every person feels seen, respected, and understood.
