Brianna Gomez (She/Her)

Pre-Licensed Professional, MS - Bilingual Trauma Informed Therapist
 therapist: Brianna Gomez,
In-Person in Coral Gables, FL 33134

My name is Brianna Gomez, and I’m a pre-licensed counselor with deep roots in Miami, Florida, where I was born and raised. I earned two master’s degrees—one in Psychology and the other in Clinical Mental Health Counseling—from the University of Louisiana Monroe. My approach to therapy is informed by a trauma-sensitive lens and is strongly influenced by narrative therapy principles. I also incorporate elements from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), grief work, and attachment-based interventions. This blend allows me to support individuals in making meaning of their experiences and moving forward with a clearer sense of direction, self-assurance, and purpose. I believe no one should have to navigate life’s difficulties in isolation. Through our work together, we’ll build toward healing, insight, and personal growth—step by step.

Treatment Approach

  • Behavioral Therapy Uses learning techniques like reinforcement and practice to change unwanted behaviors. It is often applied to phobias, anxiety, and habits.
  • Biopsychosocial Therapy Takes into account biological, psychological, and social factors in understanding mental health. It looks at the whole person, not just symptoms.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Eclectic Therapy Draws from different therapeutic methods based on what fits each client best. It is flexible and personalized rather than following one single model.
  • Feminist Therapy Addresses how gender roles, power, and social inequality affect mental health. It empowers clients to challenge limiting beliefs and systems.
  • Multicultural Therapy Acknowledges the role of culture, race, and identity in mental health. It values diversity and adapts treatment to each person’s background.
  • Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: My professional background includes working in a trauma-focused clinical setting where I’ve had the privilege of serving children, teens, and adults from a wide range of cultural and life backgrounds. I focus on helping individuals work through trauma, anxiety, grief, and major life changes. I aim to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported—where your voice matters and your story can evolve. I recognize that healing is rarely straightforward; it involves both progress and setbacks. But with patience and support, it’s possible to find resilience, grow through hardship, and embrace lasting transformation. My therapeutic approach is grounded in trauma-informed care with a strong foundation in narrative therapy. I also integrate techniques from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), grief counseling, and attachment-based practices.
