Nava Narayani (She/Her)

Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC, RYT
 therapist: Nava Narayani,

I specialize in helping couples and individuals navigate the complex territory of relationships, with themselves and each other. Whether you're a couple working through conflict, rebuilding intimacy, healing the impact of sexual trauma, exploring premarital counseling, or consciously uncoupling with grace, or an individual ready to break old patterns and reclaim your voice, I offer a space that is safe, nonjudgmental, and alive with curiosity. I believe that real change happens when we feel truly met, and I bring both clinical depth and genuine human warmth to every session. My style is gentle yet direct, and warm yet pinpointed to support your growth.

Treatment Approach

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
  • Contemplative Psychotherapy Combines mindfulness and meditation practices with modern psychology. It encourages awareness and compassion as part of the healing process.
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
  • Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
  • Experiential Therapy Involves hands-on activities to bring emotions into the present moment. It helps clients process feelings more deeply than through conversation alone.
  • Multicultural Therapy Acknowledges the role of culture, race, and identity in mental health. It values diversity and adapts treatment to each person’s background.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: I draw on a blend of modalities tailored to each couple or individual, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), somatic therapy, attachment theory, mindfulness, and contemplative psychotherapy. Rather than treating relationships as a problem to fix, I see them as living systems shaped by history, culture, the body, and the stories we carry. My approach honors both the science of psychotherapy and the wisdom of creativity, spirituality, and embodied experience. I work collaboratively, meaning we define your goals together, move at your pace, and stay curious about what's underneath the surface. Clients often tell me they feel genuinely seen, not just heard. If you're ready to build something more nourishing, I'd love to walk alongside you.
