Terms of Use
TherapyTribe.com — Visitor Terms of Use
Effective Date: April 27, 2026
Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using this site. By accessing or using www.therapytribe.com (the “Site”), you signify your agreement to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING DISPUTE RESOLUTION: These Terms contain provisions that govern how disputes between you and TherapyTribe will be handled, including a binding arbitration requirement and class action waiver in Section 17. Please read Section 17 carefully before using the Site.
1. About This Site and Who These Terms Cover
TherapyTribe is an online directory that helps people find mental health professionals and provides educational resources about mental health and wellness. The Site is operated by WebTribes, Inc. (“TherapyTribe,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
These Terms of Use govern your use of the Site as a visitor — that is, when you browse the directory, view therapist profiles, send a message through a contact form, or otherwise interact with the Site without an account. Visitors are not required to create an account to use the directory.
Different terms govern other relationships:
- If you are a mental health professional listing your practice on TherapyTribe, the Listed Members Terms of Service apply.
- If you are a member of TheTribe Wellness Community at support.therapytribe.com, the Community Terms of Use apply.
- All visitors, members, and listed therapists are also subject to our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect information.
2. Eligibility
The Site is intended for use by adults. To use the Site you must be at least 18 years old or the legal age to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction if that age is higher. Individuals under the age of 13 are not permitted to use the Site.
If you are between the ages of 13 and 18, or the applicable legal age in your jurisdiction, you may only use the Site under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who has reviewed and agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
If you do not meet these eligibility requirements, you are not permitted to use the Site. By accessing and using the Site, you represent that you have the right, authority, and capacity to agree to these Terms.
3. Authorized Use
Subject to these Terms of Use, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the Site for your personal, non-commercial purposes. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Site, in whole or in part, at any time without notice.
4. No Unlawful or Prohibited Use
As a condition of your use of the Site, you agree not to use the Site for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the Site in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Site or interfere with any other party’s use of the Site;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion or feature of the Site, or any systems or networks connected to the Site, including by password mining or any other means;
- Obtain or attempt to obtain any materials or information through any means not intentionally made available by us;
- Use the Site to send unsolicited communications (“spam”) or to harvest contact information about therapists, visitors, or others;
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when contacting a therapist through the Site;
- Submit content through any contact form that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, threatening, or that you do not have the right to send;
- Use the Site or its content for any commercial purpose without our express written consent.
5. Intellectual Property
The Site and all of its content — including text, articles, photographs, graphics, logos, page layout, software, and the selection and arrangement of content — are the proprietary property of TherapyTribe and our licensors and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not duplicate, publish, modify, redistribute, or create derivative works from the Site or its content without our express written consent. You may not frame the Site or any of its pages, or assist any third party in doing so. The names “TherapyTribe,” “TheTribe,” and associated logos are trademarks of WebTribes, Inc. and may not be used without permission.
Therapist profile content (including biographies, photos, and credentials) is provided by the listed therapists themselves and remains their property, subject to the license they grant us under the Listed Members Terms of Service.
6. AI Training, Scraping, and Automated Access
You may not use the Site, or any content or data accessible through it, to train, develop, fine-tune, evaluate, or benchmark any artificial intelligence or machine learning model, including large language models, generative AI systems, recommendation engines, or automated content generators.
You may not use any automated means — including bots, crawlers, scrapers, or harvesters — to access, extract, copy, or compile content from the Site, except for legitimate search engine indexing by search engines that respect our robots.txt directives. Systematic extraction of therapist profiles, listings, photographs, articles, or any other Site content is prohibited.
These restrictions apply regardless of whether the content is publicly accessible. The publicly accessible nature of the Site does not constitute a license or permission to extract content for training, dataset compilation, redistribution, or any other commercial purpose.
7. Third-Party Links and Advertisements
The Site contains advertisements and links to third-party websites. We do not control these third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, products, or services. Your use of any linked third-party site is at your own risk and is subject to the terms and privacy policies of that site.
Unless we expressly state otherwise, we do not endorse the content, products, services, or websites of any third party. If you experience a problem with a third-party link, please let us know through our contact form and we will investigate.
8. TherapyTribe’s Right to Monitor
TherapyTribe has the right, but not the obligation, to monitor activity on the Site, including content submitted through contact forms and other communications, in order to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site;
- Ensure compliance with these Terms;
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, spam, abuse, and security incidents;
- Respond to legal requests or comply with applicable law; and
- Protect the rights, property, and safety of TherapyTribe, our visitors, listed providers, and others.
TherapyTribe may, in its sole discretion, refuse to deliver, edit, or remove any content submitted through the Site. We have no obligation to do so, and our exercise or non-exercise of these rights does not create any duty or liability to any visitor, listed provider, or third party.
9. Health Information Disclaimer
The information provided on the Site is for educational and informational purposes only. It is not medical advice, mental health advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified mental health professional or other licensed health care provider.
If you are in crisis or experiencing a mental health emergency, do not rely on the Site for help. Call 911, go to your nearest emergency room, or call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
10. HIPAA and Privacy of Health Information
TherapyTribe is not a healthcare provider and is not a Covered Entity, Business Associate, or Subcontractor as those terms are defined under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, as amended (“HIPAA”). TherapyTribe does not provide medical or mental health services through the Site, and the Site is not designed to receive, transmit, or store protected health information (“PHI”) as defined under HIPAA.
You should not send protected health information, medical records, insurance information, diagnostic information, or other sensitive health details through any contact form, email, or communication tool on the Site.
Listed providers, not TherapyTribe, are responsible for any HIPAA compliance obligations that apply to their independent practice and to communications they conduct outside of the Site. If you wish to share sensitive health information with a listed provider, please do so through that provider’s own secure communication tools after you have established a professional relationship with them.
11. Directory Disclaimer
The TherapyTribe online therapist directory is offered as a resource to visitors. We do not examine, determine, or warrant the competence of any mental health professional or treatment facility listed in the directory.
TherapyTribe requires all listed providers to agree to our Provider Standards, which include affirming, evidence-based, and non-harmful practice as a condition of listing. However, we cannot guarantee the ongoing conduct of any listed provider, and we recommend that you verify a provider’s credentials, license status, and approach directly before engaging their services.
Use of the directory to locate a mental health professional or facility is wholly voluntary. In no event shall TherapyTribe be liable for damages to any user of the directory for the voluntary selection of any professional or facility, for the services provided by any professional or facility listed, or for any other damages that may occur from your contact with or engagement of a listed provider. We make no warranties regarding the information contained in any listing or any services that may result from a listing.
We recommend that you check the licensing of any mental health professional or other health care provider with the applicable state licensing board, and verify that the professional or treatment facility maintains current malpractice or professional liability insurance.
12. “As Is” Disclaimer
We do not promise that the Site will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that the Site will provide specific results from your use of any content, search, or link on it. We do not warrant that files you download from the Site will be free of viruses or other harmful components.
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS. THERAPYTRIBE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THERAPYTRIBE MAKES NO WARRANTY AS TO THE RELIABILITY, ACCURACY, TIMELINESS, USEFULNESS, ADEQUACY, COMPLETENESS, OR SUITABILITY OF THE SERVICES OR CONTENT CONTAINED ON THE SITE.
13. Limitation of Liability
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, INCLUDING BREACH OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR NEGLIGENCE, WILL THERAPYTRIBE, ITS AFFILIATES, OR ITS PARTNERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES THAT ARISE OUT OF OR ARE RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL THERAPYTRIBE’S AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY LOSS, DAMAGE, OR CLAIM RELATED TO OR ARISING OUT OF THE SITE EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
14. Release of Claims
By using the Site, you release, discharge, and hold harmless TherapyTribe and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all claims, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or injuries (including death) of every kind and nature, whether known or unknown, arising out of or related to:
- The services provided by, or any interaction or engagement with, any listed mental health professional, treatment facility, or other provider you may locate or contact through the Site, including any therapy services, advice, treatment, or care you receive from such providers;
- Any disputes between you and any listed provider; and
- Any reliance you place on information contained in or accessed through the Site.
You acknowledge that your selection of, contact with, and engagement of any listed provider is your own decision, made at your own risk, and that TherapyTribe is not a party to any professional services relationship that may result.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TherapyTribe and its partners, affiliates, officers, directors, agents, and employees from any liability, loss, claim, or demand — including reasonable attorneys’ fees — arising out of or related to your breach of these Terms, your violation of any law or the rights of a third party, or your misuse of the Site.
16. Copyright Complaints (DMCA)
TherapyTribe respects the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that content on the Site infringes your copyright, you may submit a written notice to our designated DMCA agent. To be effective under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, your notice must include:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on the owner’s behalf;
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed;
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with information sufficient to permit us to locate it (such as a URL);
- Your contact information, including address, telephone number, and email;
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the copyright owner’s behalf.
Send DMCA notices to: WebTribes, Inc., Attn: DMCA Agent, 1055 Quartz Ct, Ste. B, San Marcos, CA 92078, USA, or through our contact form.
17. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration
i. Informal Resolution. Before initiating any formal proceeding, you agree to first contact TherapyTribe in writing using the contact information at the end of these Terms and provide a detailed description of the dispute and the relief you seek. The parties agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of written notice. If the dispute is not resolved within that period, either party may proceed to arbitration as described below or, where applicable, to small claims court.
ii. Binding Arbitration. You and TherapyTribe agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Site, or your use of the Site, including disputes regarding the validity, applicability, or enforceability of this arbitration provision, shall be resolved exclusively by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. The arbitration shall take place in San Marcos, California, or at your election, via remote hearing. The arbitrator’s decision shall be final and binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction.
iii. Exceptions. Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may seek emergency injunctive or other equitable relief from a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent actual or threatened infringement, misappropriation, or violation of intellectual property rights, without waiving the right to arbitrate all other claims. Either party may also bring an individual action in small claims court if the claim qualifies for that program.
iv. Class Action Waiver. You agree that any arbitration or proceeding shall be limited to the dispute between TherapyTribe and you individually. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you waive the right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against TherapyTribe. You agree that you may bring claims against TherapyTribe only in your individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class action or representative proceeding.
v. Costs. Each party shall bear its own costs and attorneys’ fees in arbitration, except where applicable AAA rules or law require TherapyTribe to pay filing fees for claims that appear to be brought in good faith.
vi. Severability. If any part of this arbitration agreement is found unenforceable, the remaining parts shall continue in full force and effect, except that if the class action waiver in Section 17(iv) is found unenforceable, the entire arbitration agreement shall be null and void.
18. Limitation on Time to File Claims
To the extent allowed by applicable law, you agree to bring any claim or action relating to your use of the Site within one (1) year from the date on which the claim or action arose. Claims not filed within this timeframe will be permanently barred.
19. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. For any dispute not subject to arbitration under Section 17 — including claims for emergency injunctive or equitable relief as described in Section 17(iii) — you and TherapyTribe agree to submit to the exclusive personal jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in the City of San Marcos, San Diego County, California, for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be posted at this URL with an updated “Effective Date” at the top. Because visitors do not have accounts with us, we cannot notify you individually of changes; we recommend reviewing these Terms periodically. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
21. General Provisions
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. Headings are for reference purposes only and do not define, limit, or describe the scope of any section. Our failure to act with respect to a breach by you or others does not waive our right to act with respect to subsequent or similar breaches.
Survival. The following sections shall survive any cessation of your use of the Site or termination of these Terms: Sections 5 (Intellectual Property), 6 (AI Training, Scraping, and Automated Access), 13 (Limitation of Liability), 14 (Release of Claims), 15 (Indemnification), 17 (Dispute Resolution and Arbitration), 18 (Limitation on Time to File Claims), 19 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction), and this Section 21.
These Terms, together with the documents referenced herein, constitute the entire understanding between you and TherapyTribe regarding the Site and supersede any prior or contemporaneous communications, whether written or oral.
