A Different Lens Counseling

Counselor/Therapist, LMHC, LPC, ADHD-CCSP, NCC
 therapist: A Different Lens Counseling,
Colorado, Florida (Online Only)
With both personal and clinical experience in anxiety, ADHD, and the process of exploring sexual orientation, I understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors can intertwine in ways that leave you feeling stuck or overwhelmed. I use evidence-based strategies to help you break through the patterns that keep you from living fully and authentically. My approach is conversational and genuinely human. I care about who you are today and who you’re becoming, and I offer a space where you can reflect, experiment, and grow at your own pace. Together, we explore your experiences from fresh perspectives so you can better understand your needs and create meaningful change. I draw from Gestalt, person-centered, and mindfulness-based foundations, while integrating CBT, DBT-informed skills, somatic awareness, and attachment-focused work. I view mental health through a whole-person lens and collaborate with you as the expert on your own life — offering guidance, education, and support as you navigate whatever brought you here.

Treatment Approach

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Gestalt Therapy Encourages awareness of thoughts, feelings, and actions in the present moment. It helps people integrate different parts of themselves for wholeness.
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
Approach Description: Drawing from extensive training and years of clinical experience, I use a holistic, present-focused approach that helps clients connect more deeply with their thoughts, emotions, and physical experiences. I believe growth happens in the here-and-now, and I support clients in developing the awareness and personal responsibility needed to create meaningful change. My work integrates mindfulness practices — such as grounding, breathwork, meditation, and body awareness — to build emotional resilience, reduce stress, and increase clarity. In our sessions, you’ll learn to slow down, notice what’s happening inside you, and respond with greater compassion and steadiness. This allows you to navigate challenges more effectively and cultivate a sense of inner balance. At the heart of my practice is a commitment to providing an empathetic, supportive space where you feel seen, heard, and genuinely understood. I emphasize your inherent strengths and capacity for healing, using active listening and non-judgmental presence to help you explore your experiences with curiosity rather than criticism. Together, we work to resolve what feels unfinished, deepen self-awareness, and strengthen the parts of you that are ready to grow. This integrative style invites clients to reconnect with themselves, discover new possibilities, and move toward a more grounded, fulfilling way of living.

A Different Lens Counseling Practice Description
As a telehealth-only therapist, I offer a supportive and grounded space where you can explore your experiences from the comfort of your own environment. My work draws on a broad foundation shaped by years in both inpatient and outpatient settings, giving me a deep understanding of how mental, emotional, and behavioral health challenges show up across the full spectrum of care. With more than 13 years in healthcare, I also have a particular passion for supporting healthcare professionals who are experiencing burnout, compassion fatigue, or the quiet exhaustion that comes from caring for others while feeling disconnected from yourself. I understand the pressure to keep going even when you’re overwhelmed, and I help clients slow down, regain clarity, and rebuild in ways that feel sustainable. My approach is collaborative and conversational — I’m genuinely interested in who you are and the person you’re becoming. I draw from mindfulness-based, person-centered, and experiential foundations, integrating evidence-based practices like CBT, DBT-informed skills, somatic awareness, and attachment-focused strategies. Together, we look at your life from different angles so you can understand your needs, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward a more grounded, fulfilling way of living.
