Alan Hanft

I’ve always been dedicated to providing the best care possible. I feel my prior work experience has helped me with this goal. After completing my ten years of medical training in 1992, having a passion for patient care and medical education, for many years I worked mostly in academic treatment centers. I was faculty in the medical schools of Harvard and Tufts Universities, and then returned to California where I was faculty at the University of California and USC for many years. For several years I’ve been board certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, General Adult Psychiatry, and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (which is the Psychiatry specialty of providing psychiatric care to people who also have serious physical medical problems). I’ve worked in many settings including inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, telepsychiatry, emergency rooms, and medical/surgical units. My experience includes working with most diagnoses, including treating depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, psychoses, loss/trauma, and autism.
