From the outside, it looks like you're doing everything right. You work hard, show up for others, and push yourself to succeed. But behind the scenes, you're exhausted. You overthink every decision, replay conversations in your head, and constantly wonder if you're doing enough. No matter how much you accomplish, it never seems to feel like enough. If this sounds familiar, you're not alone. I specialize in helping teens and young adults break free from perfectionism, anxiety, and self-doubt. Together, we'll uncover the patterns that keep you stuck, learn how to quiet your inner critic, and build confidence that isn't based on achievement alone. As a therapist and dance/movement therapist, I believe healing happens when we learn to listen to both our minds and our bodies. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. Therapy with me isn't about becoming a different person—it's about helping you feel more like yourself again. You don't have to keep carrying the pressure alone. If you're ready to stop striving for perfect and start living with more confidence, self-compassion, and joy, I'd love to help.

Treatment Approach

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
  • Dance / Movement Therapy Uses movement and body awareness to express emotions and improve mental health. It can increase confidence, reduce stress, and support healing.
  • Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
  • Sandplay Therapy Uses sand trays and miniature figures to allow symbolic expression. It is especially helpful for children and trauma survivors.
Approach Description: My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each client's unique needs. I believe that healing happens when you feel truly seen, understood, and supported—not judged or pressured to have everything figured out. I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Relational Therapy, Dance/Movement Therapy, and Sandtray Therapy to help clients gain insight, build resilience, and create meaningful change. ACT helps clients develop a healthier relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions while learning to live in alignment with their values. Rather than getting stuck in self-criticism, perfectionism, or anxiety, clients learn practical skills to move forward with greater flexibility and self-compassion. Through a relational approach, I view the therapeutic relationship as an important part of the healing process. Together, we create a safe and trusting space where patterns can be explored, challenges can be understood, and new ways of relating to yourself and others can emerge. As a Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist, I recognize that emotions are not only experienced in our minds but also in our bodies. By incorporating body awareness, movement, and nonverbal expression when appropriate, clients can access emotions, reduce stress, and develop deeper self-understanding. I also utilize Sandtray Therapy, which offers a creative and powerful way to explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences that may be difficult to express with words alone. Through symbols, storytelling, and imagery, clients often discover new perspectives and insights that support growth and healing. My goal is to help clients move beyond simply managing symptoms and toward building confidence, self-compassion, emotional balance, and a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.

Angie Yemma Practice Description
At The Dance of Therapy, I help high-achieving teens and young adults who are struggling with perfectionism, anxiety, self-doubt, and life transitions. Many of my clients appear successful on the outside but feel overwhelmed by the constant pressure to perform, meet expectations, and keep everything together. My practice offers a warm, supportive space where you can slow down, explore what's beneath the stress, and develop healthier ways of coping. Together, we'll work to quiet the inner critic, build self-confidence, improve emotional regulation, and create a stronger sense of balance and authenticity in your life. I take an integrative approach that combines talk therapy, mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), positive psychology, and body-based techniques through Dance/Movement Therapy. This unique approach helps clients gain insight, process emotions, and create lasting change in ways that go beyond words alone. Whether you're navigating academic pressure, relationship challenges, a major life transition, or simply feeling stuck in the cycle of never feeling "good enough," therapy can help. My goal is to help you move from surviving and striving to feeling more connected, confident, and present in your life.
