Treatment Approach

  • Behavioral Therapy Uses learning techniques like reinforcement and practice to change unwanted behaviors. It is often applied to phobias, anxiety, and habits.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Eclectic Therapy Draws from different therapeutic methods based on what fits each client best. It is flexible and personalized rather than following one single model.
  • Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
  • Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
  • Gottman Method Couples Therapy Based on decades of research, this method gives couples tools to improve communication, manage conflict, and strengthen intimacy.
  • Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
  • Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) Helps clients challenge and replace irrational beliefs. It is an action-oriented approach for lasting change.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: Beth believes that each therapy session is an intelligent conversation with her clients. While she is well-versed with the DSM, advanced graduate degrees and on-going certifications, she defaults always to working with her clients with a full-focus on the human condition. She challenges her clients to explore the relationships with not only people in their lives, but with concepts and beliefs.

Beth Clardy Lewis Practice Description
Beth Clardy Lewis began Vervewell Counseling after many years working in private practice on her own. She missed the camaraderie of her supervision days where she spent her 3000 hours in a private therapy group. Fast forward to today, her beautifully curated private practice has been the home to over 30 upcoming therapist-associates gaining their full licensure under her supervision, as well as the Vervewell team of fully licensed therapists stretching and growing their own skills while meeting with Beth weekly. She has built a reputable, sought after practice where clinicians gain rich, on-going education, and clients file into the Vervewell offices where they immediately experience the welcoming, heart and soul-rich vibes. Beth's collection of local and state-wide art fills the walls of each space, supporting her belief in productive expression, while the beautifully furnished therapy rooms honor her love for design.
