Christopher McClendon Practice Description
My experience includes serving as a lead counselor for the Fulton County DUI Court Program. In addition, I volunteered at multiple juvenile detention facilities, to work alongside with at risk-teenagers. More of my experience includes working with individuals to resolve a variety of life challenges, such as sexuality concerns, social anxiety, childhood and adult trauma, anger management, relationship challenges, general decision-making and more. Our mind is like a garden, a pleasant place to visit and relax. A garden left unkept will eventually grow weeds and become unpleasant to visit. Similar to a garden, when our thoughts and emotions become unpleasant, it signals to us there is some work to be done. Therefore, as gardeners of our minds, it is important we maintain our “mental garden.” We must cultivate our minds, by eradicating weeds (unhealthy thoughts & behaviors). We must fertilize our minds, by planting new healthy thoughts & behaviors. Lastly, we must prune our minds (keep our minds healthy), by continuing to maintain our mental garden, which increases fruitfulness and growth and make our mental garden a pleasant place to relax and find joy once again. All you need to bring with you is your willingness to address your challenges. I have been divinely called for this moment. “The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him (or her) who is weary” (Isaiah 50:4). All counselors add something unique to the mental-health field. I hope you and I have the opportunity to work together. If not, then I pray you find what you are looking for in your search. “Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors, there is safety” (Proverbs 11:14). I hope to meet you soon. God bless.
