Experience more joy in your life and relationships! Get unstuck, stop living from fear, learn how to trust again, regain or improve your self-esteem, and simply work on feeling better. Have your sessions in the more-than-human world, out in the fresh air, supported by nature in a private space and/or in the wonderful healing presence of horses, or by teletherapy if you prefer. My SpiritedScience® programs offer solace in the spirit(s) of nature and are especially appropriate for those who may not thrive in a conventional psychotherapy setting.

Treatment Approach

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
  • Equine-Assisted Therapy (Horse Therapy) Involves interactions with horses to support emotional awareness and growth. It can build trust, confidence, and calmness.
  • Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
  • Experiential Therapy Involves hands-on activities to bring emotions into the present moment. It helps clients process feelings more deeply than through conversation alone.
  • Feminist Therapy Addresses how gender roles, power, and social inequality affect mental health. It empowers clients to challenge limiting beliefs and systems.
  • Gottman Method Couples Therapy Based on decades of research, this method gives couples tools to improve communication, manage conflict, and strengthen intimacy.
  • Hypnotherapy Uses guided relaxation and focus to access the subconscious mind. It is often used for habits, anxiety, and pain management.
  • Multicultural Therapy Acknowledges the role of culture, race, and identity in mental health. It values diversity and adapts treatment to each person’s background.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
  • Transpersonal Therapy Integrates spirituality and higher states of consciousness with psychology. It encourages growth beyond the individual self.
Approach Description: My approach is person-centered, positive, feminist, Jungian, existential, and transpersonal. One size does not fit all, and I utilize various approaches, deciding with each individual what feels right and necessary for their own growth and healing. I am aware of the various systems (racial, socioeconomic, patriarchal) that many of us live in and must navigate, as well as how they might affect a person's well-being. I am an advocate and ally for the marginalized, including women, BIPOC, and the LGBTQIA+ population. My style of communication is direct and honest, and I will challenge you sometimes in order to help facilitate introspection and growth, but I will also provide a safe and caring environment for our explorations together.
