Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
- Gottman Method Couples Therapy Based on decades of research, this method gives couples tools to improve communication, manage conflict, and strengthen intimacy.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
- Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
- Schema Therapy Identifies deep-rooted negative patterns formed in childhood. It combines CBT, attachment theory, and experiential methods for change.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: A Collaborative, Transparent Approach
My role is to guide and support you—and your partner, when applicable—as you work toward the goals you identify for therapy. We will regularly revisit those goals and incorporate your feedback, as well as significant events, challenges, and changes that arise from week to week. Your therapy is not a predetermined process; it evolves alongside you and the changes you are making.
Most individuals and couples begin by meeting with me weekly for at least two to three months. Some choose to continue therapy longer as they pursue additional goals, while others may reach a point at which they feel ready to conclude treatment. I encourage open communication throughout the therapeutic process so that we can collaboratively determine the appropriate frequency of sessions, evaluate progress, and decide when the time is right to transition out of therapy.
