Evidence-Based Psychology Services for Tweens, Teens, and Young Adults (ages 10-25) with Anxiety or Depression. As a licensed psychologist, I am dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based therapy to adolescents struggling with anxiety and depression. I am passionate about helping young people navigate the complexities of their emotions, build resilience, and develop a sense of agency in their lives. Through a thoughtful combination of research-backed therapeutic strategies and mindfulness techniques, I empower adolescents to create meaningful change in their mental health. With a strong commitment to evidence-based practices, my goal is to not only alleviate the symptoms of anxiety and depression but also to help adolescents gain lasting skills for emotional and psychological well-being. By combining modern therapeutic techniques with mindfulness and compassion, I help my clients find relief from their symptoms, build resilience, and develop the confidence to face life's challenges.

Approach Description: My approach to therapy is grounded in the use of evidence-based treatments that are proven to effectively alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression. I focus on providing practical, efficient strategies that offer relief in a timely manner while also empowering clients to build long-term skills for mental well-being. Central to my approach is the integration of mindfulness, which helps individuals increase self-awareness, manage stress, and regulate their emotions. Coupled with mindfulness, I emphasize the importance of compassion—both towards oneself and others—to foster a supportive and healing environment. By combining these powerful therapeutic tools, I aim to guide clients in not only addressing their immediate concerns but also cultivating resilience and emotional balance that lasts beyond our sessions.

Dr. Brittany Mathews Practice Description
I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy, where the client is an active participant in the treatment process. At MindKind, I work with each individual (and family) to build a safe, nonjudgmental space where they can explore their feelings and develop healthy coping strategies. By using a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Adolescents (IPT-A), exposure therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions, I provide tools that are tailored to each adolescent's unique experiences and challenges. The psychology services provided at MindKind are rooted in several core values. The first core value is honoring individual and collective humanity. The second core value is ethical decision-making and behavior. The third core value is utilization of evidence-based assessment and treatment methods. Overall, it is my aim to create a safe and inclusive space to provide affirming and culturally responsive psychological health care to everyone. I primarily provide teletherapy services online, which allows me to serve youth across my home state of Wisconsin in addition to 41 other states in the U.S. If needed, I can provide in-person sessions at my office location in Milwaukee, WI.
