- Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) A short-term approach focused on improving relationships and social support. It is often used for depression and grief.
- Intersubjective Therapy Explores the shared emotional experience between therapist and client. It emphasizes connection and mutual understanding.
- Psychoanalytic Therapy Based on Freud’s theories, it explores unconscious conflicts and past experiences. It seeks to bring hidden issues into awareness.

Approach Description: Dr. Houben approaches the work from a Relational Psychoanalytic school of thought that hallmarks the analytic relationship as the primary vehicle of change. Relational psychoanalysis is a lived emotional experience. Essentially, relational psychoanalysis, most fundamentally, is a therapeutic enterprise with the goal of enhancing the patient’s capacity to be alive to as much as possible of the full spectrum of human experience.
