Engaging in psychotherapy can be a life changing experience in that it has the power to potentially change your relationship with your partner, your friends, children, and your self. As a psychotherapist with years experience, I have helped many people live more satisfying lives. Often, therapy identifies areas of living that are problematic, even painful, and it will be a shared effort between us to find solutions and help you feel better, more optimistic, and more self aware.
I am licensed to practice psychology in New York, and as a senior clinician have had the pleasure of working with individuals, couples and families over the years and with their help have been able to produce lasting changes in their lives. I specialize in Couple Therapy and am certified to do that work by the Westchester Center for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis.
Listening is key to the work I do, and I listen with care and attentiveness to what people say, and most importantly, for what the emotions are that sometimes the words alone are not communicating. Body language, tone of voice and facial expressions are frequently more important than what is actually said. Good therapists see these physical changes as messengers that can take the work of psychotherapy to the places it needs to be, and focus on what's working and what needs improving. I provide a safe and trustworthy atmosphere in my comfortable consulting room in Katonah New York. This is the climate that helps to produce emotional security, and will help you listen to yourself and others with greater empathy and kindness.
I am an active therapist and will both listen and often make specific suggestions to help you grow.
