Dr. Desai is a board-certified psychiatrist. He completed adult psychiatry training in the University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston. He served as a psychiatrist at Pine Rest Mental Health Services, Grand Rapids, Michigan in their severe persistent mentally ill patient unit and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) clinic. He also provided consultation services in the EmPath unit using telemedicine in the emergency room of Spectrum Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids, Michigan. He trained many medical students and psychiatry residents as a faculty member of Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine, Grand Rapids, Michigan.
