My practice is different because I pay equal attention to the mind and body. I pursued board certifications in clinical health psychology and behavioral sleep medicine, which required me to undergo thousands of hours of training and examination beyond my Ph.D. to discover intricate connections between the mind and body. I try to listen more than I talk and I am also an active therapist--- I share when I feel I have something of value to add. My primary therapeutic modality is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Therapy, which helps clients explore and get in-tuned with their own personal values and make changes from within that allow them to live in a way that aligns with those values. I also have extensive experience in helping clients with complex sleep disorders and offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and beyond. For clients who have had traumatic or unpleasant experiences that continue to resurface, I offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). My top specialties include working with clients experiencing chronic pain, medical problems, sleep issues, and life / work-related stressors.

Dyani Saxby Practice Description
My practice is intentionally integrative, meaning I carefully select and present treatment approaches that I feel could be a good fit for your unique values, presenting concern, and preferences. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and EMDR. I also offer a holistic approach and frequently incorporate hypnosis, which can help you enhance your work within these modalities. I am a Latina woman and watched my grandmother practice indigenous healing for years. I learned from her that also western medicine has value, that there are many problems that it cannot solve. I have a deep understanding when clients come to me feeling dismissed by the medical system and can offer them real hope. I hope to bring something beyond which traditional medicine can offer. I obtained my Ph.D. in psychology and am double board certified in health psychology and sleep so I could bring my clients the highest level of training and experience. I am well suited to helping clients who are struggling with chronic pain, medical problems, sleep issues, and life / work-related stressors. I bring 12-years of licensed professional experience and personal life experience. I have learned to manage a painful chronic medical condition of my own, while being a mother and business owner. I know the delicate balance that can be required to achieve a sense of confidence in these areas of life.
