I specialize in helping trauma survivors, especially survivors of childhood and/or adult sexual trauma, reclaim the life they were meant to live. If you're struggling with symptoms related to trauma, such as being easily triggered, anxiety or depression, dissociation (feeling spaced out, numb, unable to ground, or connect to your body's sensations) trouble sleeping, nightmares, or flashbacks and more, you're in the right place (for an extensive list of trauma symptoms check out my post https://www.healingsexualtrauma.com/post/what-are-trauma-symptoms). My goal is to help you get the results you're looking for while offering lots of needed compassion and understanding. I'm the author of the Healing Sexual Trauma Workbook, the upcoming Healing Sexual Trauma Guided Journal (2024), and teacher of the PESI Sexual Trauma Clinical Training. I'm dedicated to supporting my clients as they navigate their healing journey.

Treatment Approach
- Experiential Therapy Involves hands-on activities to bring emotions into the present moment. It helps clients process feelings more deeply than through conversation alone.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Neuropsychology Examines how brain function affects thinking, memory, and behavior. It often involves assessment and rehabilitation strategies.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
- Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: My approach is compassionate and supportive while at the same time direct. I want to see you get the results you're looking for, even if you don't quite yet know what that is. At the beginning of each session I'll give you space to check in and let me know how you're feeling, next we'll decide what we want to focus on, keeping in mind your overarching goals, and then we'll delve into some deeper healing work together. I draw on somatic psychotherapy, EMDR, neuroscience, energy psychology, self-compassion, mindfulness, and parts work along with the more traditional psychodynamic approach. I'll introduce you to practices and other tools, teach you why they're useful and when to use them. Practice is important because healing doesn't happen in therapy alone, it happens when you apply what you learn in therapy to the rest of your week. It's about embodying new ways of being in connection with yourself, others, and the world around you.

I'm grateful to be doing the work I'm doing and passionate about helping people to heal from trauma and grief of all types. If you're struggling with trauma there are many potential symptoms that you may be experiencing, from persistent triggers, flashbacks, nightmares, and dissociation, to depression, anxiety, and more complex health issues. I take all of this into account and personalize your healing based on your unique set of symptoms. Immersed in the work of healing I've facilitated groups, supervised trainees and associates, teach an online PESI course for therapists, and I'm writing my second book for survivors (all are listed above and under specialties). I believe that learning is a lifetime endeavor and enjoy staying current with the research on trauma and all that's related. My clients have expressed appreciation for this, and I am humbled for all that I learn from them.
