Treatment Approach

  • Behavioral Therapy Uses learning techniques like reinforcement and practice to change unwanted behaviors. It is often applied to phobias, anxiety, and habits.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
  • Self Psychology Explores the development of self-esteem and identity. It emphasizes the importance of empathy in healing.
  • Social Learning Therapy Based on the idea that people learn behaviors by observing others. It applies modeling and reinforcement to encourage healthy change.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: I use a variety of approaches in my therapy practice, as I do not believe therapy is a one-size fits all practice. Different approaches work for different people, and having flexibility and fluidity in my approach ensures that clients are getting exactly what they need.

Erin Anderson Practice Description
I specialize in working with individuals struggling with eating disorders, unhealthy relationships with food, and body image concerns. Additionally, I provide support for those experiencing prenatal, perinatal, and postpartum depression and anxiety, helping new and expectant parents navigate the emotional and physical challenges of this transition. Through parent coaching, I assist caregivers in building strong, healthy connections with their children while fostering confidence in their parenting journey. I also work with individuals managing anxiety and depression, helping them develop effective coping strategies and cultivate a greater sense of well-being. Therapy is a journey of growth and self-discovery, but it can also feel overwhelming and intimidating. Having the right support can make all the difference. In my sessions, I help facilitate change by encouraging a positive outlook, fostering self-compassion, and guiding clients toward new perspectives and healthier coping strategies. With the right tools and professional guidance, you can regain control and move toward a more fulfilling, balanced life.
