Treatment Approach
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
- Eclectic Therapy Draws from different therapeutic methods based on what fits each client best. It is flexible and personalized rather than following one single model.
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Feminist Therapy Addresses how gender roles, power, and social inequality affect mental health. It empowers clients to challenge limiting beliefs and systems.
- Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) A short-term approach focused on improving relationships and social support. It is often used for depression and grief.
- Multicultural Therapy Acknowledges the role of culture, race, and identity in mental health. It values diversity and adapts treatment to each person’s background.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
Approach Description: I know it can be hard to start therapy or to share our true emotional selves with a new person -even over video! Whether you are looking to discuss orgasm difficulties, anxiety, self-criticism, or relationship stress, I am here for you. I use my down to earth nature, compassion, intuition, natural curiosity, –and sometimes even humor- to gently guide your growth. Together, we can explore experiences, emotions or barriers preventing you from living your most meaningful life. At the core, I believe that feeling truly seen, an illumination of unhelpful patterns, sensible sex/psychoeducation, and a place to explore your inner truths can promote a space of healing.
My approach to therapy is integrative, drawing from relational, humanistic, feminist, multicultural, and mindfulness-based perspectives. I value processing how intersectional identities and structures of oppression contribute to distress and pain. I seek to collaborate with you to understand your concerns within your worldview. I also often use mindfulness-based approaches to assist in both experiencing painful emotions and to nurture self-compassion. I believe that healing happens within a supportive space with well-timed, conscientious challenging. "The wound is the place where the light enters you.” ― Rumi. Let's embark on this healing journey together.
