Welcome, I am glad you are here because seeking help is the first step to wellness. My name is Cynthia. As a Christian mental health and substance treatment counselor, I am honored to counsel women age 18 and above in-person or online in North Wilkesboro, NC and surrounding areas. Helping women recognize and build on their inner strength and thrive beyond the impact of such issues as trauma, abuse, and tragedy is a calling in my life. Taking care of our spiritual relationship with God helps better our overall well-being. I look forward to partnering with women in their journey of mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness.

Approach Description: I use mindfulness, emotion focused, eco/nature, and Christian or spiritual therapy in indoor, outdoor, and online settings. In the first session, we will explore what brought you to therapy and ways to address your needs. Throughout therapy, we will examine how your thoughts and emotions affect your life and healthy coping techniques to improve your future.

Education: I attended Liberty University in Lynchburg Virginia where I attained an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a Licensed Clinical Addiction's Specialist, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate, National Certified Counselor, and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.

  • Affordable sliding scale therapy: apply if you may be eligible.
  • I offer a sliding fee scale between $50 to $120 for cash paying clients based on income.

  • Currently, for substance/alcohol use issues, I bill private pay and the following insurance through Headway, a billing partner; Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC, Optum, Optum EAP, Oscar Health, Oxford, UHC Student resources, UMR, UnitedHealthcare UHC|UBH. I also bill NC Medicaid in the VAYA Health region of 32 NC counties for substance and/or alcohol use counseling. To determine your Medicaid region, see the breakdown of Medicaid counties in the picture posted on my profile. In addition, I bill private pay clients for mental health and/or substance use counseling on a sliding fee scale based on income.

Walk and Talk therapy is offered in parks, walking trails, indoor tracks, gyms. In-person, sit and talk therapy is offered in community based settings as well.
