Dr. Ingrid Solano (She/Her)

Psychologist, PhD
Selecting a psychotherapist is an intimate and consequential decision. The work is most effective when you are able to be fully yourself—without self-editing, without judgment, and without pressure to perform. My role is to offer a calm, attuned, and intellectually rigorous space where anxiety, depression, and relational concerns can be explored with care, curiosity, and respect for your privacy. Many of my clients seek support for chronic anxiety, emotional exhaustion, low mood, or a sense of disconnection that persists despite outward success. I approach this work collaboratively, creating a conversational and grounded therapeutic process designed to help you feel understood, regulated, and supported—particularly when navigating complex or deeply personal material. I offer secure telehealth psychotherapy, allowing for seamless and discreet access to care from anywhere with internet access. Extensive research demonstrates that telehealth therapy is as effective as in-person treatment, with increased continuity and flexibility for demanding schedules. For those who prefer in-person sessions, I also maintain a private office in West Hollywood. When you contact my practice, you will communicate directly with me. Your care is never delegated. This structure ensures absolute discretion, continuity, and a highly individualized therapeutic experience from first contact onward. In addition to my clinical work, I am an intimacy consultant for film and television, bringing a sophisticated understanding of relationships, emotional dynamics, and high-visibility professional environments. My practice is intentionally small and selective, allowing me to provide focused, confidential care to individuals and couples seeking a refined, private, and deeply attentive approach to psychotherapy.

Treatment Approach

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) An evidence-based treatment for PTSD that teaches clients to reframe unhelpful thoughts about trauma. It helps reduce guilt, shame, and fear.
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
  • Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
  • Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
  • Feminist Therapy Addresses how gender roles, power, and social inequality affect mental health. It empowers clients to challenge limiting beliefs and systems.
  • Gottman Method Couples Therapy Based on decades of research, this method gives couples tools to improve communication, manage conflict, and strengthen intimacy.
  • Imago Relationship Therapy Helps couples understand how childhood experiences influence adult relationships. It teaches communication techniques to deepen connection.
  • Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
  • Ketamine-Assisted Therapy Combines low doses of ketamine with psychotherapy to treat depression, trauma, and anxiety. It can provide relief when other methods haven’t worked.
  • Multicultural Therapy Acknowledges the role of culture, race, and identity in mental health. It values diversity and adapts treatment to each person’s background.
  • Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
  • Social Constructionist Therapy Looks at how social and cultural context shapes identity and problems. It helps clients create new narratives of meaning.
  • Social Learning Therapy Based on the idea that people learn behaviors by observing others. It applies modeling and reinforcement to encourage healthy change.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: I see myself as an intuitive, creative, informed, and highly trained Clinical Psychologist. Therapy with me fosters a deep sense of engagement and connection, a sense of feeling heard and understood, and clarity where there was previously ambiguity. This work is active, penetrating, and engaging. I have a strong respect for both the journey and the destination. I place high value on the therapeutic relationship, collaboratively tailor treatment to meet unique needs, and utilize interventions shown to be effective through scientific research. My goal is to provide a safe, non judgmental space for you to explore who you are, how you relate to others, and what supports you on your journey to become your best self. I lean into, listen, understand, and enhance authentic expression. Together we create a collaborative process of transformation. What that means and what that looks like is different for everyone...

Fees & Insurance

Fees
  • Average Session Fee 150-375
  • Affordable sliding scale therapy: apply if you may be eligible.
  • Sliding-scale and pay-what-you-can refer to short and long term discounts for sessions, based on financial need. I offer reduced fees for my services on a limited basis. I find this important for diversity, opportunity, and during the current pandemic. I often base these decisions on fit with my areas of expertise. Reduced therapy fees and qualification requirements must be discussed and agreed upon during consultation and/or the initial intake. This agreement will then be documented in writing. Initial intake fees are rarely adjusted for any reason, as I conduct a valuable diagnostic intake interview that would be beneficial for most future/other mental health services.

Dr. Ingrid Solano Practice Description
I work with couples, families, friends, and individuals. My expertise is in time-limited, evidence-based Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies (CBT), the Unified Protocol for emotional disorders, and third wave CBT (i.e., Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness based interventions). I specialize in relationships, interpersonal trauma, and non-traditional relationships/lifestyles (i.e., open, poly, BDSM, kink). I believe relationships and context matter. Research shows that relationship distress causes problems in mental health, work, children, and even your own physical health. Yet, healthy relationships protect you from stress and help you thrive. Third wave interventions also promote well-being through developing coping skills, personal values, and metacognition that complement traditional CBT interventions. I provide flexible, customizable approaches that look different with each patient. I empower my clients to discover their strength, clarity, creativity, autonomy, resilience, motivation, and confidence in meeting whatever happens next. I provide individualized tools to use in everyday decision-making that will help those changes last. With these modalities I treat individuals who are impacted by depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship distress, burnout, divorce, loss, uncertainty, stigma, and other life experiences, diagnoses, and stressors. We explore the sources, experiences, and beliefs that impact how you relate with the world and implement change in your life. You are the expert on you, but are you your most effective and content self? Our stories and narratives are powerful and can help share our reality.  We'll uncover what you've been carrying (about you, about the world) that no longer serve you. I practice from an affirming, feminist, and anti-racist philosophy. This means that I unconditionally accept and value my clients’ gender, sexual, racial, cultural, and other identities. My practice takes into account each person’s unique experiences within contexts of social and systemic oppression, and the impact on your relationships.   Extensive research has shown that most people who have engaged in these treatments have seen their symptoms significantly improve in 12 to 16 sessions. I aim to provide efficient relief from distress, and to teach patients to “become their own therapist.” I use my training to help you make sense of your life and your relationships. I bring an instinctive awareness that each of us has an inner world that can be at odds with the external one we live in. How has this been influenced by your environment and experiences? What is your narrative? My role begins with understanding that inner world with authentic curiosity, and a non judgmental fearlessness that promotes a new type of relational interaction. As a therapist, I have a focus on therapeutic intentionality while remaining warm and open. I wont flinch at curse words or feel compelled to fill a powerful silence. I can keep up with a dark sense of humor, and appreciate the healing power of laughter. I celebrate your successes and keep us focused on your goals. I offer day time, evening, and weekend appointments. I provide flexibility in scheduling for the creative artist and partners who may have complex schedules that may be otherwise difficult to coordinate. I also provide concierge home visits for some clients at an additional cost.
