Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW

What makes my practice unique is its integrative depth. I specialize in helping both individuals and couples understand the 'why' behind their patterns. Often, the very skills that serve people well professionally—like logic and control—become sources of frustration in their intimate lives, leading to communication breakdown, emotional withdrawal, or a loss of sexual connection. By blending the emotional science of EFT for couples, the deep insight of Psychodynamic Therapy for individuals, and specialized training in Sex Therapy, we work together to build the flexibility and vulnerability needed for true intimacy.

Treatment Approach

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
  • Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
Approach Description: My approach is warm, interactive, and built on a single belief: you make perfect sense. The patterns that cause you pain today—whether in your own mind or in your relationship—were once brilliant solutions for protecting yourself. Our work is not about fixing a flaw, but about understanding your story. We’ll use the deep insight of Psychodynamic Therapy to explore your original blueprint, the powerful tools of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to reshape your relational dance, and the practical skills of Mindfulness to build a more compassionate relationship with yourself. This is a collaborative journey toward lasting change.

Jonah Taylor Practice Description
If you are feeling stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed by patterns in your life and relationships, taking this step to seek support is an act of profound courage. My practice is a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential space dedicated to helping individuals and couples move beyond pain and distress toward lives rich with deeper meaning, connection, and authentic well-being. I specialize in the following areas: Couples Counseling (EFT): For couples caught in repetitive conflict or feeling emotionally distant, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to de-escalate arguments, understand the negative cycle you're stuck in, and heal the underlying attachment fears. We work together to rebuild trust, deepen intimacy, and foster a secure, loving connection that lasts. Therapy for Men: I provide a dedicated therapeutic space for men to address the unique and often unspoken pressures they face. We work on navigating stress and burnout, managing anger, exploring vulnerability as a strength, the challenges of modern fatherhood, and building healthier, more connected relationships. Sex Therapy & 'Sex Addiction': As an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, I offer an expert, sex-positive, and compassionate framework for addressing sexual health. This includes support for individuals and couples with concerns like low desire, performance anxiety, erectile dysfunction (ED), and other dysfunctions, as well as helping those struggling with what is often called 'sex addiction' or compulsive sexual behavior find a non-shaming path to regain control and build a healthy, integrated sexuality. Individual Therapy: My one-on-one work provides in-depth support for adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and significant life transitions. Using a blend of psychodynamic insight and mindfulness-based skills, we work to heal past wounds, build resilience, and cultivate a stronger sense of self. Personality Disorders: I offer specialized support for individuals navigating the challenges of Borderline (BPD) and Narcissistic (NPD) personality traits. Crucially, I also provide therapy for the partners and family members affected by these dynamics, helping them with boundary setting, self-protection, and processing their own emotional experience. How We Can Work Together: I offer confidential sessions online via secure telehealth for residents of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New Mexico, and Rhode Island. The most important factor in successful therapy is the relationship and fit between you and your therapist. To help you determine if I am the right guide for your journey, I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation. This is a chance for us to connect and for you to ask any questions you may have.
