(Online Only)
Are you tired of being the last priority on everyone’s “To Do” list — including yours? Do you want to drop the weight of shame, sadness, low self-esteem, and/or worry that’s been holding you hostage? Are you ready to learn how to stop putting yourself last and finally start nurturing yourself first?
If so, then you are in the right place.
My name is Karla Lawrence, and I’m so happy you’re here. I provide distance (online) counseling and coaching services to adult individuals in Maryland. I specialize in self-care, anxiety, depression, codependency, stress and burnout recovery counseling for compassionate women & soulful introverts. If you identify as a people pleaser, “nice” girl/guy/person, introverted, shy, and/or highly sensitive person, I would love to help.

Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
- Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
- Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: I am a Health at Every Size (HAES) informed practitioner. My approach to working with each client is collaborative and holistic. I believe that you are the expert in your life, and my role is to create a safe and welcoming space for your healing and growth journey.
