Treatment Approach

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
  • Experiential Therapy Involves hands-on activities to bring emotions into the present moment. It helps clients process feelings more deeply than through conversation alone.
  • Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.

Kendall Matthews Practice Description
Long-term relationships aren’t meant to feel dull, distant, or purely logistical. If you’re finding yourselves caught in the same arguments, drifting into parallel lives, or feeling worn down by stress and change, you’re not alone. Maybe something big has shifted or maybe the disconnection crept in quietly. You still care deeply, but “getting by” isn’t the relationship you want. Beginning therapy can feel like adding another task to an already overloaded life. Reaching out takes intention and vulnerability. You don’t have to untangle this on your own, and you don’t have to accept feeling disconnected as the cost of staying together. I work with individuals and partners who feel depleted, overwhelmed, or in the middle of major transitions. In our work, we’ll slow the pace, get curious about what’s underneath the patterns, and create space for real emotional connection. The goal isn’t just to manage stress or conflict, it’s to help you feel more engaged, grounded, and aligned with yourself and each other.
